I’ve seen stuff pulled from the steam store so it’s no longer available for purchase/adding to my library, but the ones I already added, even undownloaded, have always still been available in my library, even if the game was fully defunct.
That’s a substantially different situation, I don’t see how you can reasonably equate Sony removing game data from people’s console post-purchase due to them no longer maintaining any servers to play on with Valve not letting you keep a game that was not properly paid for in the first place.
What facts? You’re comparing Sony manually removing game data from accounts that had legitimate ownership of it with Steam automatically reversing the registration of a game you didn’t pay for. I didn’t expect the payment to fail and I definitely didnt expect the games I started playing to be deleted from my harddrive. Are you trying to say you wouldn’t be surprised if something you didn’t know could happen until I informed you, happened?

Holy shit are you obtuse. No. Steam can revoke your licenses if you don’t pay for them. And that is a completely different thing than revoking your license after you paid for them without a refund. One of them is taking from you stuff that you didn’t pay for in the first place. The other one is taking from you stuff that you paid for. Yep, GOG doesn’t have the ability but Valve absolutely does. When my payment for a humble bundle failed (so, added to library and installed before the payment was resolved) Steam removed the games from my library AND drive
Agreed. It probably has to do with the third party (humble bundle) validation process. This functionality however is in the Steam subscriber agreement, along with “any reason we see fit”
Some steam games don’t have DRM… even Steam’s. Steam just hosts the files. I think Stalker(the old games) is onesuch example. The games just launch whether steam is up or not.

Got any sources for that? Only ever heard of them removing a game from sale, not removing it from someone who has already bought it.
