Could you NSFW tag this? Getting reports about rule 4 and 6 that are reasonable, but if it’s behind a tag, I think it’s fine.

I see a bit of both sides being argued in the comments here. We don’t have a clear rule about this atm, so removals have been inconsistent and case-by-case, often based on reports.

Maybe I’ll start and pin a discussion thread about this during the week (when we’ll get the most eyes on it) and see what the wider community wants, and if desired, maybe we can come up with a rule wording that isn’t too restrictive, but removes stuff that genuinely feels “off topic” for a memes page.

Piefed has been going slow for me for the past week. Not sure why, so I just swapped back here for a few days and will try again soon.

This is probably one of the most loosely moderated communities on Lemmy, intentionally. I have no desire to be the morality or thought police, I just know that a lot of people don’t want to be surprised with porn or gore that they weren’t intending to see, so sometimes I ask people to use the NSFW tag.

Getting reports on this. Could you add a NSFW tag?

As a general rule of thumb, it would be best to tag anything that is (or appears to be) from porn, even if censored or off screen.

He’s famous as a really good geo-guesser (a game where people get random google streetview images and try to drop a pin as close to the coordinates as possible).

People give him challenges all the time, and it’s really impressive.

It’s so sad. I feel like we need to be hoarding all sorts of random media that was put out pre-AI, because it’s flooding everything. Videos, music, gaming, historical photos/videos…

Random example: I have a folder of desktop wallpapers that I’ve been casually adding to for the last decade or so. Literally thousands of them by this point, but I haven’t added anything recently because every source is inundated with AI generations now.
