So many people are affected by suspensions (even permanent) for reporting posts. The admins are gaslighting users who bring this to their attention.
I gathered a short list of examples of people talking about this topic.
In case you are still a Reddit user and logged in: DON’T COMMENT AND VOTE ON THESE REDDIT POSTS!
I just had to vent. I’m serious, don’t react to these posts on Reddit. No, this isn’t one of these “I tell you not to do something in the hope you are doing something” cases.
What does this have to do with a shitposting comm or Lemmy in general?
From the community description:
Welcome to Lemmy Shitpost. Here you can shitpost to your hearts content.
Anything and everything goes. Memes, Jokes, Vents and Banter.
follow the vibes, not just the rules
reddit doesn’t have a problem ; it is a problem
Each subreddit is a HOA run by toxic, power mongering dickheads.
They really need a system to rate communities, moderators, and publicly air grievances or to just burn that shithole to the ground.

I looked at reddit today. Mod issues? Jfc, idk how anyone uses reddit anymore with how much clickbait and bot posts there are.

What’s the point in reporting and helping mods if all that lead to is a ban? Let the mods handle the filth without the help of the community and see how that goes.
Discouraging users from reporting content could potentially be against the Apple App Store guide. I don’t understand why Reddit is doing that.
