Someone needs to teach me this trick of buying pizza with the pizza’s own money.

“Dominoes hates this one weird trick.”

They’re saying that if you time it right, they won’t get/hear the notification that you’ve checked in and you can slide into the right spot. Wait awhile and then you’ll get refunded because you were “waiting so long”

Which it can work TBH, it just won’t be a reliable method by any means

This is why there are spaces clearly marked for curbside pickup. If you’re not in one of the designated spaces and try to pull this you will not get free food.

The apostrophe actually makes it a contraction, not possessive. So they’re really saying “the underpaid teacher who bought it with it is own money”. I know not everyone cares, but that’s how our weird language works…

Gotta love that the meme is pointing out how under appreciated the teacher is but then refers to the teacher as “it”.

    The disrespect is real.

Playing devil’s advocate here: maybe they were trying to be inclusive by not specifiying gender but haven’t heard of they. The US education system is a joke in a lot of places so the (hypothetical) teacher may have to think twice before suggesting they change the it’s to their. But hey, at least the apostrophe is where it should be and I’d take that as a win for education.

If I had to guess, the meme was probably made by someone who likely has English as a secondary language. I doubt there was any disrespect intended.

I once bought little prize things for my team. Nothing special, stress balls in funny shapes and things like that.

Got pulled into the office for using my own money on that one lol

I got a job once at this little video production company, and everyone was always trying to find pens. I’m pretty sure this one smart ass there was stealing them just because he thought it was funny that no one could ever find one…

Anyway, it was probably my second week on the job and I got pissed off because there were like 10 cups that were supposed to have pens in them at all times and I couldn’t find a single one, so I went to the grocery store across the street and bought like 3 boxes of pens and filled all the cups again with the warning that these were my pens that everyone was welcome to use but if they all went missing I would start keeping them locked in my car. Everyone seemed happy to have pens again.

I got hauled into the managers office 2 hours later and questioned as to why I spent my own money on office supplies, why I didn’t just requisition more pens, told never to do that again and handed a check for $11 for “stationary supplies”.

That was the last time I ever bought anything for anybody at work ever again lol

Haha yes! You did the right thing though. It’s all about timing. I knew my team needed the dumb prizes that week/month for the extra goodwill. You knew everyone needed goddamn pens.

How long would it have taken to get that done going through management?

“So I spoke to manager X and they said we’ll have pens in a couple weeks” doesn’t exactly inspire anything.

People had been complaining about the pens since my first day there lol all the pens I bought were gone after about a month and they all went back to complaining again. I think one of the managers supplied a single 10 pack of pens once the whole time I worked there. I just kept a box of my own in my car for me to use lol

“Fuck it, I’ll do it myself” is, in my experience, a great way to get ahead at work. No one likes the manager that doesn’t look out for thier people.

Much love for these teachers. They are not paid nearly enough. I hate the corporate pizza party, but not the public school one.

Edit: I wonder if the difference in financial burden between a corporate pizza party and a public school one is a good metric

I’m glad that my nephew’s teacher last year sent out a message to allow family to donate to those parties. I’ve paid for a few.

I’m also sad that it has come to that.

No, there’s definitely a science to this. It’s the same reason sandwiches taste better if you cut them in a triangle. The sharp points make for the perfect bite size.

Growing up, my mom always, always cut my sandwiches in half to make two rectangles. I asked her why at some point, and she said when she was growing up, her mother always cut her sandwiches into triangles, and she hated it. So when she moved out, she basically vowed to only cut sandwiches into rectangles.

I hated the rectangles growing up, and cut all of mine into two triangles now that I’m on my own. 😆 Funny how the world works, hahaha

And one day your child will grow and cut theirs into rectangle, the circle of sandwich life continues.

PersonallyI I cut mine into irregular polyhedrons.

I volunteered at a summer camp in college and we had a $30 budget to feed 15 kids + 1.

I bought four Little Caesars $5 dollar pizzas, some dollar store big sodas, and had enough money for big bags of chips.

    We made it work! 😭
