No, no. We just aren’t there yet. Once everything collapses and resources become truly scarce, we will see Mad Max

With scarce resources no one’s going to drive around in hot rods

Billionaires fly around in their private jets despite price and environmental impacts, so if they choose to, rich people absolutely would be driving around in hot rods

I think you underestimate the lengths stupid people will go to to drive hotrods

Yes of course, in the apocalypse everyone will be driving brand new, unmodified cars.

Looks like a mask (wildfire smoke), evaporative cooling neck gaiter (?), light long sleeved clothing to protect from UV, and a ton of ACs running because it’s hot as fuck.

The neck wrap around is for UV protection, it’s just part of their cap. It completely covers the neck front and back.

Mask could also just be for dust during droughts. And the hood neck thing maybe just to shield from the sun?

Yeah when I go for a long bike ride I put on a balaclava to prevent sunburn. As well as bee throatage. There’s a little bit of my eyebrows exposed, but I also have a hat on.

I always found it unrealistic when people (white actors of course, because those get the roles) in post-apocalyptic worlds wear almost nothing, as if sunburn didn’t exist.

Well, if you want to point out all the unrealistic details in Mad Max, it’s going to take some time.
