Thinking about the original ads this is parodying… it’s wild to think that they had to explain the idea of chocolate and peanut butter together. I think we take that for granted these days. heh.
It’s just marketing. Marketing is frequently stupid but memorable. It’s not enough to ignore it - you need to be as contractions as possible. That’s why I only mix marshmallow and fishsticks. It’s the optimum fuck you to not only advertisers but human decency, the Geneva protocols, and any gods that probably don’t exist anyway.
If you’ve ever watched the british baking show you’d know brits fucking hate peanut butter.
Historically, a lot of americans are just brits which leads me to believe peanut butter is an aquired, cultural taste so a lot of the marketing was probably necessary.
I get what you’re saying but I think its still more cultural than anything. Whenever I run into a brit I ask them if they like coffee and peanut butter and I’ve gotten more “no” than “yes” on both questions.
I expect for most people who didn’t grow up with peanut butter as a kid they will just not like it, sugared up or not.

brit and I did hate peanut butter as a kid.
however I will also say that Reeces is peanut butter flavored confectionary, it is not strictly peanut butter.

Nope. Fuck that. Peanuts? Yes. Butter? Yes. Sauce (e.g., stir fry)? Yes. With chocolate? Yes. Protein shake? Yes. Sandwich? Yes. Curry? Yes. A pastry? Yes. Savory? Yes.
The entire world agrees that peanuts need to be gargled.
This just in: Peanuts are GOATed
In George Washington Carver’s name. Amen.
two great tastes that taste great together
