I prefer dark hair. Sometimes it’s red or blonde or blue.

I prefer pubic hair. Sometimes it’s there, sometimes it’s not.

I prefer a few extra pounds. Sometimes those pounds aren’t there. Sometimes a few extra is more like a lot extra.

In no example above did I shut down the interaction, nor did I experience any less pleasure.

Product - use daily

Personal skill - I can cook like a motherfucker. Like really good stuff. If I believed in love languages, mine would be feeding others. The women in my office make weekly requests for me to cook whatever they’re craving over the weekend and bring it in on Monday.

But I’m talking about energy. Gomez spends his entire existence striving toward being Morticia’s everything. I don’t have enough gas in the tank after seventy or eighty hours of getting yelled at for my income.

Most of the math I do at work is related to compound interest. Of all the math I believe the general public should understand, the concept of how paying interest to others is a total screw would get my top vote.

I have a co-worker who took out a car loan last week at, wait for it, FIFTY THREE PERCENT INTEREST! No concept of what that was costing her. She could only see, “I can afford the monthly payment.”

Smarter everyday is really a special one. The way that guy involves his kids and his own boyish excitement when he finally gets an experiment right is downright heartwarming. Then there was the whole episode checking in on physics girl. He had no particular incentive to do that. He just really seems to care.

I found a channel recently, I think within the Roku channel, that plays nothing but old MTV videos.

It was no more than a couple weeks ago that I found it, but I’m not sure if I can find it again.

Nonetheless, it’s out there somewhere.

Edit: It’s in the Roku channel. Go to the music category and it’ll take you to music videos galore. Some are playlists of thirty hours or so, some are live. I see seventies, eighties, nineties, and 2000s along with different genres.

They did give at least a solid twelve years of music. The best unplugged episodes were in the early nineties.

I’ve found myself repatronizing half priced books lately. I’ve gone through five books since mid May.

I was a voracious reader before mobile devices existed.

I’d forgotten just how much more satisfying it is to let yourself go in a good story rather than bicker about minutiae with countless strangers all day every day.

(Sidenote: I’ve been looking up reviews for the books I’ve read and am surprised to find indignation at sexual scenes in novels. Like, if you’ve ever read a John Irving novel in your life, and you’re surprised and offended that the next one has sex in it, you should maybe reconsider your chosen career path)

I just took a charter flight that didn’t involve going through TSA or the airport terminal.

Whatever happened on the flight itself was irrelevant as the sheer pleasure of getting on a plane without the standard anal probe far outweighed all other aspects of the journey.

I think it’s been over twenty years since I’ve driven a manual transmission. I wonder if I could still do it. In my younger years when such cars were still common, it was second nature, but here 'murca, it’s tough to even find one if you want one anymore.
