Taken at f9 and 1/250th of a second exposure
I’m pretty happy with this, hopefully I’ll be able to get a higher res one in the future.
Moon photos are the best. I’ve been playing around with a couple from my balcony
f5.6, 1/400th of a second at 500mm on a Nikon Z6
That’s a crispy shot for sure
I’m hoping in a few weeks I’ll be able to get some nice crescent moon shots as those are my favorite
I managed to get a similar shot with my phone. Yours has a ton more detail though. Seeing Jupiter right next to the moon was nuts. It’s not visible in this photo though.
I’m using an S22 Ultra. I’m seeing people suggest that some phones use post processing to fake the image. So that’s unfortunate.
What phone was this taken with? Because some phones have a “moon mode” where they replace the actual moon with an image that’s far better than what the actual camera sensor of the phone would be able to capture.
How do people take such clear photos of the moon on their phone? My phone only sees a ⚪.
They are usually shooting through a telescope, or are using a phone that “enhances” moon shots through AI (i.e. replaces the original image with an AI generated image)
Wow, Samsung did that? That’s kinda funny.
A big part is exposure, you need to really crank down the exposure so the Moon isn’t just an overexposed white circle. Having a phone with optical zoom is also important to get a decent resolution image.
What phone was this taken with?
That’s pretty good for a phone picture, mine phone doesn’t take anything close to that for the moon
Unfortunately I didn’t see Jupiter tonight but that was probably due to my poor timing (as per usual) lol
My second astrophotography session, currently using free things taken with my phone through 7x50 binoculars
Jupiter with io just about visible
The best of my moon shots no filter so pretty blown out
Working around the blow out is a bit tough for sure
And that’s a nice shot of Jupiter, I’ve been meaning to try for some of the planets but I never seem to be able to find them lol
Nice! What was your focal length for such shot? Tripod?
I used my Lumix G9 with my 100-300mm lens at 300mm to get this shot
And yeah I used a tripod though I probably didn’t need to due to the shutter speed of 1/250th
Edit: this is also really cropped in, like Lightroom kicked this out at full res of 1000x1000
