I don’t like how you worded this because you overlook the fact that games with a kernal anti-cheat don’t work on Linux. This is the only reason I haven’t switched over yet. The only arguments people make is “just play other games” which is not helpful at all and suggesting dual booting which I’d have to do what? Daily? Maybe twice a day? Whats the use of having Linux then?

          ew

no, i’m kidding. that one’s completely on riot, their other games worked fine on linux until they turned that feature off. it’s shitty behaviour and they’re basically the only ones doing it.

I appreciate the social time I spend with friends while playing it. I don’t really understand the elitism of a lot of people that say “just don’t play it” as if my social circle doesn’t get impacted by that.

Like, all the better to you that you are able to avoid it! Wish I could as well, there was a time where I would’ve. But the people I play this with have been my friends for years and valorant is currently one of the main games we play.

i completely get that. or, rather, i don’t, because i’ve never been in a friend group who just plays the one game. we pick a new one every week, because the social time is the important part, not what we’re doing during it.

but that’s just it: if your friends play the one game over and over, and you want to hang, that’s where you gotta be. friendship is more important that some nebulous ideological purity.

Some of the friends like playing different stuff, but some also just like playing certain games. That’s ok really but it is in this case limiting me from switching to Linux haha

It’d be nice to be able to switch around more like you’re saying
