We’ve got some great gaming communities on Lemmy for sure, but with LTAG I wanted to create a space to allow for players to come together to discuss games, the community around them and the ways in which we play, interact and consume them.
If that sounds like your sort of thing then head on over. We’ve got shortbread and builders tea on tap.
See, I’ve joined, but why the need for another gaming community?
We could have those kinds of discussion on all the others too?
It seems to me that the other gaming communities have a lot of news content rather than discussions.
A bit like the difference between !moviesandtv@lemm.ee (news focused) and !movies@lemm.ee (discussion focused)
Yes I’d prefer to stay away from the news side of the industry because I can find that stuff to be exhausting at times.
Ideally LTAG will flourish into a place to talk about what you’re playing, dissect the latest video from your favourite content creator or post some really cool art from an old magazine you’ve just found in the loft.
Sounds like a nice approach.
Then add some discussions 🤷
I am not sure what you mean, there are discussions ongoing in both !letstalkaboutgames@feddit.uk and !movies@lemm.ee.
I’m talking about your comment that I replied to:

They usually are drown among the news
I like this idea as a different slant compared to the existing gaming subs, I think there is a niche for it. There was already !truegaming@kbin.social but it never took off, I think.
I really like Kbin, but I noticed that they have a harder time getting traction than on Lemmy. Don’t know why though, on paper there is no reason.
I actually don’t like Kbin much personally, but yeah I have also noticed that. I wonder if there is still some wonky federation issues going on? Or maybe Lemmy users subconsciously gravitate to Lemmy communities, I don’t know.
Good luck with this!
I tried to start up almost exactly this over at !gameclub@sopuli.xyz but it never really took off. Best of luck to you! I definitely agree Lemmy needs this kind of space.
