Futurama has aired its possibly kinda sorta finale, for the 6th time. (We still have at least three specials, starting next year.)
- The Devil’s Hands Are Idle Playthings, the original broadcast finale.
- Into the Wild Green Yonder, the film era finale.
- Overclockwise, the “if we aren’t renewed” Comedy Central era finale.
- Meanwhile, the true Comedy Central era finale.
- Otherwise, the “if we aren’t renewed” Hulu era finale.
- Final Ending: The Last Conclusion, the true Hulu era finale, probably, dependingm we still have specials.
All of the finale episodes are written by Ken Keeler, sometimes under a psudonym.
I think Meanwhile with time being frozen and The Devil’s Hands Are Idle Playthings are my favorite finales, but they all have their charm.
As for this finale, a sweet story between Fry and Yancy, a touching Fry and Leeka moment, and multiple references to stories not ending. Overall not too bad.
