Not all of us. I just read what it said on the main page “A community of privacy and FOSS enthusiasts, run by Lemmy’s developers” and thought that sounded good. I’m sure a lot of people that were new to lemmy figured the instance run by the devs themselves would be a safe bet. There also wasn’t nearly as much drama around .ml back then, but it honestly hasn’t been enough of an issue to make me create an account on a new instance and switch.

They probably use the proprietary Face Off ™ technology.

1·7 months agoYeah, I’m a little jealous of that cool ass setup. I used to have something like it, though not as nice.
I like that “Name” was on there. You know, in case he forgets.
Honestly, life would be improved if people brought everything on fancy wooden planks. I would replace FedEx and UPS in a heartbeat if my stuff arrived like that instead of being spiked onto the ground like a volleyball.

1362·8 months agoWe watched it live in elementary school, most of the kids didn’t get what had happened right away. Our teacher was just standing there stunned until an announcement came on the intercom asking all the teachers to turn it off. They didn’t say anything to us, just tried to pretend like we didn’t just watch people blow up live.

2·8 months agoA 33MHz DX 486was great. If you got stuck with a slower SX CPU, things were frequently not so hot.

71·8 months agoI’ve had great luck using Intel NUCs and home servers and HTPC boxes. Since those are now gone, I have found that Beelink is the most cost effective replacement when I needed to revamp the setup. My biggest complaint on them is that the cooling fans on them are not super reliable and it is not easy to find compatible replacements. I had to order them direct from China and there are a few wiring incompatible variants. I ended up with one of them being the wrong type and I had to resolder the leads to match the existing broken fan.
Is Zohran’s wife way cooler than we thought? It looks like it has the girls from those cool clubs in movies that I have yet to find in real life.

3·9 months agoThat seems bizarre based on the prices I see, maybe they are intentionally undercutting the others locally in your area specifically. Whole Foods was by far the cheapest place to buy eggs earliest this year and were obviously using them as a loss leader (we’re talking less than half the price of standard grocery stores in the same area).

1·9 months agoI used it during the worst of covid, especially because where I lived had multiple accounts of people being assaulted for wearing a mask. I had no desire to have to fight some disease spreading moron just so I could get groceries.

36·9 months agoI only go to Whole Foods for a few specific stuff items that I can’t get elsewhere due to food allergies. There is no way they are the cheapest place to get groceries.

WTF is this nonsense, Discman was a specific Sony product ala Walkman.
Canyon is one of the best, but weirdly the Whole Foods store brand is really decent for their bread, waffles, and bagels and super cheap. Like matching normal bread cheap. I go to Whole Foods twice a month and buy pretty much only these items because my wife has Celiacs.
