Dbzero and programming.dev are already also high on my list, but thanks for the recommendation. I’m not in a super hurry to move or anything, I’ve never been given a hard time on ML, but I hate to think I’m slowly being edged out of the wider lemmy experience.
Not to be confused with what happens when you ask Oracle a question. Their answer is always “give me a shitload of money”.
I have to say the responses in this thread are a bummer, but I’m not surprised. I signed up on lemmy.ml because when I read the descriptions of the various instances, ML’s “A community of privacy and FOSS enthusiasts” sounded pretty great and I saw a lot of technical communities that interested me. I didn’t expect the politics. I tried to make a new user on .world a few months back, but I seemed to get stuck in some sort of user verification limbo. Maybe I’ll try midwest.social since I moved to the midwest recently.
I haven’t seen anything like that on a pizza since I moved to the midwest. They do seem obsessed with pickles though.
I used to work two jobs and the middle of the night was the only time I could shop and I still don’t want them to go back to that.
They generally aren’t trustworthy overall, but many of those lists that have decent suggestions are just stolen content from more legit sources that don’t SEO farm and get buried in search engine results.
As someone that shopped at both, but preferred Circuit City, I think Best Buy initially did a better job of “wowing” customers and had a better store layout. They also were better at trying to squeeze money out of people and thus were more profitable than Circuit City, so when times got leaner they survived and then had the whole market.
I did that with buying “one-a-day” vitamins for seniors because they were a quarter the price of standard men’s vitamins. I checked the stats and ingredients, they were about identical and from the same brand.
Even in the unlikely event that Elon did get a colony going on Mars, he’d be like Cohaagen from Total Recall, but worse.
My friend cross stitched a QR code as a tree ornament and gave it to me for Christmas. It worked, and it sent me to a ridiculous meme video. I admire his dedication to the joke.
Depends on the spider. When I briefly lived in AZ we had a problem with tarantulas ending up on top of our cars if we left the light on outside during the night. I knocked off off the car roof and it literally splattered. I felt bad, I assumed they would be fine.
I feel like this error message was targeted at a very specific, very annoying user that can’t be ignored.
Thanks, so it is probably hit and miss on that feature, but I’d also probably rarely use it. I still might pick this up as it looks very cool.
I used to use Mortplayer on Android for years which played FLACs and used folders well. I don’t know the current state of the app, but it might be worth looking into.
Ok, wait, so this thing also works as an actual cassette? That’s so hilariously awesome I might get it purely for that gimmick.
Perhaps so, I don’t have the data to verify other than the recession which was at the very start of 80s and certainly didn’t define the next 20 years. That wasn’t what I commented about. I think the music and movies were awesome, not awful at all.
You twice misspelled the word “awesome”,. It happens all the time sadly. I bet AI filled it in for you.
I was in the same place experiencing the same thing, hell we probably ended up working together doing trivial jobs surrounded by people grossly overqualified. Things did end up better eventually for me, sorry to hear it didn’t for you. We got the short end of the stick there for sure.
It’s absolutely the defederating that worries me more than the blocking. I have seen talk about nontrivial lemmy instances mulling defederation enough to keep an eye on it though.
