It’s not all the parents fault, leaving kids unattended under all contexts has been sort of criminalised. Letting your kids play unsupervised outside or even letting them walk to school by themselves could get CPS called on you. I had a friend who had to stop letting her 10 year old walk to the bus stop to take the bus to school, because a “concerned neighbour” called CPS, it was a ten minute walk.

This one time I got banned from world news for disagreeing with one of the more conservative posts there, and I wasn’t even impolite about it. Months later I accidentally commented on world news again using an alt account, as I had forgotten about the ban. So then I got permanently banned from reddit itself, and every time I tried to make a new account it got banned for ban evasion. I was only able to make a new account and keep it for more than 24 hours when some time later I changed my IP and bought a new phone.
If not friend, why friend-shaped?
