I’m not. This person often posts memes often saying how it’s ok to kill certain groups of people they don’t agree with.

Why is this downvoted? It’s a shitpost

The same as all memes this person posts almost every few hours: Destroy everything that’s not communist and kill everybody who isn’t a communist.

I remember this being a big problem back on reddit. Most upvoted posts in a subreddit were often posts whose authors clearly didn’t understand the subreddit’s point. What I want to say with this is that post getting upvotes doesn’t necessarily mean they are good post for this community. Because that’s the argument that immediately comes to my mind when I’m criticizing this post: it’s upvoted, therefore people clearly want posts like that.

I won’t respond to every one of your responses individually, because I feel like you missed what I’m trying to say. It’s kinda hard for me to express my thoughts in english, so it might be my fault. I’ll try again:

When I see regular memes in this community, I usually have good emotion from them. I often laugh, be it aloud or just in my head. I might send the meme to my friends. Overall, it makes my day a bit better.

When I see one of those memes like this one, saying something like “it’s ok to shoot capitalists” or “both american parties are bad”, I don’t have any of those good feelings. Even though with the second one I more agree than disagree. These are not memes, at least not as I see it, for me they are just (often very hateful) political message written to some meme format. I’m not talking about every meme criticizing communism. I’m talking about these low effort memes that I could create tons of from literally any random meme template.

Now, the following is just my opinion: I don’t think people who agree with the political message in these memes (communists in this case) do have the good emotions that I have from regular memes. I believe that people who upvote it do it not because they laughed, but because they agree with the political message. And I don’t think memes should be like that.

If I’m wrong, I’m just unable to see it with your eyes, and you really find those memes funny and entertaining, then my whole point doesn’t make sense.

Why do they run two lemmy instances?

It should be combined into one post appearing in all communities it’s crossposted to IMO. Maybe also with only one comment section under it, but that would bring some problems.

No, it’s not the morally correct position. It’s your political opinion. But I was trying to make a different point, and that was how bad your “meme” is. The whole point is that people with opinion A are angry when you tell them your opposite opinion B. What I demonstrated with my parody of your meme and what you just confirmed is that the meme can work the same even if you switch A and B. It’s a low effort post made in 2 minutes on a toilet and it’s not funny, not even for people who agree with your political opinion. Or at least I don’t think communists on lemmy are that dumb to find the “lol people who don’t agree with me are angry when I tell them the thing they don’t agree with 🤣😂🤣” funny. It’s stupid and it would be just as stupid if I posted my version of the meme. I don’t mind political memes, even if I don’t agree with them, but this is not a good meme. It might be a funny shitpost, it’s really similar to something like “annanas on pizza haters when you tell them annanas on pizza is tasty”. People like you posting low effort shit like this and people upvoting it not because they find it funny, but because they share your political view are turning lemmy into communist circle jerk. !comics@lemmy.ml is full of hateful political cartoons that one of the mods keeps spamming there, so it already is just that. People giving lemmy a try and seeing this getting upvoted are not going to have a good first impression about lemmy. I believe you are hurting this community and whole lemmy and helping no one.

I’ve read somewhere on lemmy that the podman-compose is unmaintained and shouldn’t be used. Can’t find it now thought.

I want to use it for selfhosting stuff on my raspberry pi. And the reason I want to use podman over docker is that podman is more secure and more FOSS (I know the engine is FOSS, but Docker Desktop isn’t and in the past they attempted to do few bullshit thing like this )

What I meant by that was that it might be easier to start with podman, when my goal is to end up wuth podman anyways.

My goal is selfhosting stuff mainly on my raspberry pi. I’m sure I’m not going to work in IT for 3 years and probably not for at least few years after that.

I literally did it by accident by stopping scrolling in the exact position.
