  • Seriously. I might not be a great “Marx Scholar” and I don’t think the revolution will just be a peaceful process “whished into existence” but I don’t think Marx was Dunkin g on anti authoritarians here and to presume the “dictatorship of the proletariat” is the long term free society of Marx ideals is utter garbage. Communism will be anti-authoritarian or it will not be.

  • Pigs are pigs no matter where you are.

In Germany they regularly kill POC in “self defense” like when they shot a 16 year old kid, that was holding a knife, with an AR.

Some cops are also fascists or support other fascist actors. Like when an attorney for the victims of the fascist terror group “NSU” got threat via fax signed “NSU 2.0” her Fax number was pulled from the data in Frankfurts 1sr precinct where a bunch of Cops were working that were also in a WhatsApp group sharing Nazi memes.

And the people investigating all of this? The police of course. Like when two police precincts were investigating each other both for killing a person “in self defense”.

    Tl;dr: ACAB world wide

So … I was also interested by that question and intrigued by that photo, so I put on my research cap and went away.

From what I found out it seems to be both:

A staged photo/shot but from a historical movie called Dr. Mabuse the Gambler .

I was able to find the movie on YouTube with A seance scene which however does not seem to be the same scene (or at least a different angle) from the picture. If anyone has the time to scroll through all 4h of that movie the scene in the picture might be in there.

  • A pound of ground beef or tofu is a third that price.

I understand what you’re trying to say here. But I just wanted to add, making a vegetarian/vegan burger is not as simple as grinding up a pound of tofu and sticking it together to fry in a pan. I’m not saying you have to buy some of the “no meat” brand burgers to make a nice vegan patty but simply substituting some meat with natural unprepared tofu and expecting a great tasting result is IMHO where a lot of people get their aversion to tofu (and often derived to all meat alternatives) from. (Source 15years of vegetarian eating and cooking) The fact that ready made vegan patties exist and taste great these days is awesome for someone like me who sometimes just wants to make a stupid simple tasty burger.

Tl;dr: Tasty vegan patties aren’t that simple.

I agree that people should be encouraged to cook more (I love doing it when I have time and it hits me). But simply declaring “nobody can cook anymore” and demanding people that might not have the time to prepare a home cooked meal in between their first and second job is not helping.

Of course the convenience of fast food and ready made meals is one of these classic situations where an “invention” that makes our life simpler and more convenient is a good reason why we don’t need all that time we save to ourselves anymore. i.e. you don’t need a lunch break when you can just microwave something up and eat it while continuing your work.

Sorry got kind of a long winded bit here. Hope it makes sense
