There are people who are hired specifically to pad reviews. They’re easy to spot though. Every 5 star review reads exactly the same even if it’s different wording.

I cleaned the cache like 2 or 3 days ago. Even then, because of my browsing habit that would’ve made it go to a gig again, ProtonMail still loaded fine.
And not 2 minutes longer after posting this - ProtonMail worked. I don’t know sometimes, I just don’t with these things.
Probably has a future? It’s already here.
I understand that things don’t last forever. But and it sounds selfish to say and maybe people might agree, I’d like for these things to last as long as I’m alive to view them whenever I please.
Though I’m really sick of this god damn hot potato shit with the content that’s spread across several streaming platforms. As well as unstable services. “Oh, we’ve shut this down, fuck your purchases” “Oh, we couldn’t sustain this platform, go elsewhere”.

Steam really did try with the movies idea, it didn’t last too long though. Licensing is a bitch to maintain.

And anytime you use a browser, you’ll always be nagged to continue viewing through browser or use their app. It comes up so obnoxiously and I swear it slows you down. They also make the viewing experience subpar unless you use the app.
One would think, that if these sites and anywhere that applies Captcha at all, that if there were puzzles to solve to tell the difference between Bot or Human. That a human would have a likely chance to mess it up, whereas a Bot or AI are designed to do things flawlessly.
I bet the creator of Captcha didn’t have the thought process to think about that.
Color me surprised.
I loathe that platforms treat themselves this way. We see this happen over and over again when a newcomer comes into the field to shake things up. They become, eventually, the best alternative. They eventually become the only thing.
And all that they turn out to be, are just portfolio fluffing projects to be made into an IPO. Then the enshittification and oh, there is next to no where to go.

I’m starting to see some drinks and packages of food even have calories varied. For example, I’ll buy a monster java drink of the irish blend flavor. One can will be 190 and another can will be 180. They’ll both have the same nutrients.
We are seriously now beginning to slip in keeping this shit consistent and it worries me.
I don’t recall there being a item limit. Which is unfortunate because the people who have boatloads of carts and their carts already loaded. They’re the most fucking slowest ever that they even give old people a run for their money. Slowly raising items to scan. Slowly putting them in bags. Slowly paying. Slowly moving the fuck out of the way as they try navigating a heavy cart with all of the junk that they’ll barely like as soon as it gets home.

Lemmy’s admins is partially at fault here. Like, you go into the Fediverse to give users refuge from the burnout and dissastifaction as to what they have seen and experienced on bigger social media platforms. Where distrust is at an all time high.
And then you go and decide to host your main announcements over on a platform where people have stirring feelings of contempt for the platform that is centralized. You are going to alienate your audience.
So, can we say that people have all died now? If sleep is just a temporary death, one we can wake up from, then that means everyone has died.
Agreed. I know it must be inconvenient to come across this thing. But people have to realize, it is done for a reason.
