  • The US has built its empire on convenience. There’s plenty of solid brands out there, but the biggest and well known are the companies that cut corners and quantity so they can keep prices low. And us US citizens just eat that shit up.

Amish style butter is some of the best butter I’ve ever had. You can find it all over the place in the Midwest and Amish heavy states.

  • This is the craziest rhetoric I’ve ever heard. People love hearing interests from a fanatics perspective. If you have an almost unhealthy interest in something, test the waters. See how much the recipient is interested in hearing you talk about this, and if they are, go all out. I’ve learned so many interesting and niche things I never would have by engaging with people with hyper fixated interests.

I wouldnt mind the first kind if they didnt have a playbook to defute every single one of your points in a manipulative way. I really don’t give a shit what you support as long as it doesn’t directly involve hate or oppression, and as long as you don’t try to shove it down others throats or try to insult people with opposing views every chance you get.

I imagine a lot of people over im hexbear are chill. I hope so at least. However, every encounter ive had with them, feels like the conservatives over on reddit. They try to ‘own’ you with loaded talking points, and bad faith arguements.

Oppressive nations tend to have powerful armies.

Nobody is defuting that the USSR fought off the Nazis and had the biggest hand in their destruction.

But just because they fought a great evil, doesnt mean they were " the good guys". It just means they fought a great evil.

  • This is a VERY good way to put it. I imagine its hard to start where they left off with so much time in between. Writing styles and comedy have changed within the last 10 years. We’re in the age of attention on top of that.

Im not saying that it wont be Futurama. It will be. It just wont taking off running with the steam they left off at.

And i think thats exactly what the first episode encapsulated. It wasnt bad. But it didnt really have any juice to it. To me it felt like it was because they were more focused on shoving the ‘idea’ of futurama down your throat more than anything else.

With that said, I really do hope the next couple of episodes are better.
