Only the US Mint, literally prints money. No one else is legally allowed to print dollars and cents. Loans only deal with what money they have to lend and what you have to overall pay (coming from another source). They can generate profits but not money. Stocks do a lot more number generation and disappearing because value is speculative (see Tesla).

The Federal Reserve sorta sets interest rates (it gets complicated).

  • It’s not an excuse, incels aren’t born incels. Saying they are responsible for their actions and that they are at least in part a product of their environment is not mutually exclusive. Understanding how they are made gives perspective on how to stop more, it doesn’t absolve them of whatever they do.

  • Well he’d have to special order from his bank. The treasury isnt going to print money just for him. There’s about 1,846 Billion worth of $100s in circulation. So 10B is ~0.54%. That’s probably enough to cause some local shortages but not enough to cause “real” issues. If he liquidated and cashed his entire 200B Forbes valuation then that’s 10.8% of circulating 100s and there may be a mild nationwide shortage.

  • So they’d free fall for ~3.4 seconds and hit water at around 75mph. That part could be survivable depending on angle of impact and safety features of the car. Assuming they survive impact, getting out in the dark with cold murky water coming in car and surviving the hypothermia as well and odds are slim to none.

  • What I’m saying about this amount of wealth is that it is because people were not paid the value of their work. They gained 20T over the years because that is what they make from underpaying and overcharging. That unregulated capitalism is the basis that leads to such obscene wealth. Redistribution is not about investment but changing the underlying system. It’s basically 58k of backpay. People would largely use it to get out of debt and improve their lives in some way.

From then on with the system changed people are getting an extra 5,800/y. Enough for significantly more families to avoid food insecurity and get/stay out of debt. Those two things are the biggest helps you can give people to reduce crime, and improve communities. It doesn’t have to be much as multiple UBI studies have shown.
