I’ve been using black beans instead of red in chili for years. It’s a matter of preference. I think kidneys have a thicker skin. Black or red beans get creamy the longer you cook them.

A friend pointed out the pineapples are bromeliads. This “flower” demonstrates it.

When a friend’s parents passed away, he came over to start packing up their house. He found tartar sauce that could vote and little onyx-like bricks of partially consumed cream cheese in the fridge. The spice rack contained Owl Spices which were donated to the state historical society.

I tried to get to the supposedly free version of Babylon 5: The Gathering and it says it’s private. Other videos play. What are you seeing about Youtube being down?
Didn’t use Jewish models, I see.
Michelangelo made the same mistake with his David.
Nana had a bunch of ash trays from Vegas casinos. They were much classier that these things. And I seriously doubt she ever ate at any of these places in her life.
I hope British Leland fixed the Triumph design in the TR6. My Dad’s TR4 required you to loosen the engine mounts and pull the engine up just to change the fan belt.
Didn’t think his show was funny then. Didn’t bother watching his Netflix show. And he’s still not funny now.

I had a long discussion with my bank’s branch manager about this. They assured me that I don’t have overdraft protection. I’ve yet to have any fees since I keep a reasonable balance. I want my debit card to fail and my check to bounce. He assured me that’s what would happen.

A neighbor pointed out to me that Venmo, Paypal, and other such services lack the consumer protections of a credit card. So, I don’t use them. If I have a problem with a purchase, I know my credit card vendor will contact the merchant and deal with it. Even if the vendor says “All sales are final”, I’ll get a refund when I challenge the sale.

I left FB before the pandemic and don’t regret it. When I still had an account, I had to verify my account by sending them my DL. I did it but blanked out my address and DL #. That was invasive enough. This is just insane.
I have long fantasized about doing this exact same thing, especially to MAGA-types who somehow got my address and are mailing me requests for donations. Someone in those groups as well as THE SALVATION ARMY have discovered that those postage guaranteed reply envelopes cost money and prompt this response. So now all that stuff requires a stamp if you want to reply. I hope that’s cut down on their fundraising efforts.

Which reminds me of the new hire who was touring our newly installed data center.
“Wow. What great racks!” she said on entering the data center.
If that stuff is anything like Crystal Lite’s Fruit Punch, it stains EVERYTHING. Bleach didn’t get it out. But Oxyclean Ultra worked. You know. Just incase you get some on a t-shirt.

Never talk to management over the phone. Get it in writing either as a text or email.
When some random #MAGAidiot complains that one of Trump’s new policies is hurting them, instead of blaming Trump, just remind the idiot “Isn’t that what you voted for?”

I wonder to this day what happened to mom’s Lladro figurines and the Royal Dalton tea cups. I’m sure my sister got Nana’s sterling and Mom’s plate. It’s really sad that the Danish modern furniture had to go before she moved up here but she was happy with IKEA and CostPlus replacements.
I got her pots, which was all that mattered to me. There’s something symmetrical in making Boeff Bourguignon in the same pot you learned to make beef stew at age 14.

I got hit by this AT&T usage cap for internet downloads. I went through 250GB of downloads in less than a month. Most of it was internet backups of a newly installed system. They don’t offer a data tier without a cap in my area so I was stuck paying $10/10GB over that month. Next month I added a $30 unlimited data charge to my bill. That’s OK as I’m consistently going over their cap again due to backups. Unless I buy much more expensive plan from a commercial provider and pay for Fibre installation, I’m stuck.
You gotta remember that OR was where a local city thought the way to get rid of a dead whale on their beach was to blow it up with dynamite. Left cars in the parking lot crushed by 1000lb chucks of whale blubber. Imagine filing that insurance claim. Anyway, this is just their grandkids keeping up the same tradition of mediocrity.
