lurch (he/him)@sh.itjust.worksto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Every last one of these questions is terribleEnglish1·7 days agoI just make an extra entry in KeePass with a suffix and different icon. I treat the answer just like an additional password and put the question as username or in the notes.
A building of lies quickly becomes unmaintainable as you pile on lies to support earlier lies. Honesty may sometimes look like it throws you back, but it’s much less stressful and less mess than all the accumulated deceit coming down.

The newer FileFix is nastier, because it looks more plausible in a situation of a download. Like, you know those fake download button ads? Imagine one of those and it leads to instructions to paste something into the native file dialog address bar instead of the run dialog. This will trick a lot more people.

lurch (he/him)@sh.itjust.worksto Cybersecurity@sh.itjust.works•Hackers use Fake Cloudflare Verification Screen to Trick Users into Executing MalwareEnglish5·16 days agoIt’s so called ClickFix and FileFix atracks. They give malicious instructions on how to perform a certain task, like download a file or solve a CAPTCHA. Some swap the clipboard contents in the last moment, so the victim doesn’t even know what’s in it: https://www.mobile-hacker.com/2025/06/24/introducing-filefix-a-new-alternative-to-clickfix-attacks/

i noticed that in the OP too and it confused me a bit. then i noticed the dark corner bottom left, which is probably a bit of the wall of the dark room the picture was taken out of. that’s why the photographer isn’t in the reflection.
