They KNOW why “YOU” use incognito lol “whet”
Royal you, not YOU you
lol, I keep trying to explain this. Incognito only removes your local browsing so your mate doesn’t see what you were planning to get them, or the porn you prefer to watch. It does not hide from websites or ISPs etc. Not even sure how well it does that.
Neat little typo there though “whet”, is THAT what you were up to? lol
English has a hard enough time being exact as it is, so I do agree with your statement.
I doubt it is the fact they are corrected(using my perspective as I do not know this person), rather HOW they are corrected. Sometimes I see someone correct another using good natured wit and humour, being polite, and the target of said criticism takes it well and learns, other times they are quite unfriendly and harsh. I don’t mind correction that is polite, I will absolutely ignore the advice if rendered harshly and condescendingly.
This goes for other situations as well, not gonna go into them as several are landmines, but the approach to correction needs to be more friendly than aggressive.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Hey look, a giant sign telling you to find a different job
2·1 month agoand you need to know grammar to use a grammar checker. My paper in uni I decided to just hit corels gramatik and accept all changes (did it a few times just for funsies) that paper went from above acceptable to an atrocious mess in no time
I used to have rats, they are amazing pets (tho too short lived). My 2 favourites were an albino male and a “brown” male rat, it had black brown and white all combined until the bottom 1/3 of his legs/paws and some of his underbelly. The brown one would hide under my hair and in my shirt when I went out with it, the albino was the same but couldn’t “hide” as it contrasted with my hair too much. Damn I miss them
Ahh 80s shorts, where ALL your assets are on display

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•God did not intend for us to fold fitted sheets, and if you can it's witchcraft.
5·3 months agoBeen folding double and queen fitted sheets for a few decades, it is not really that hard.
- Pick a side (long or short)
- put the corners into each other, by folding in half (I like to put the “body” side of the sheets inside)
- put the 2 corners together (here you can put the sheet down to make the sides “nice” so they are square)
- fold in half until you can’t I usually get 3 folds (should be about as big as a towel folded in half 3 times on the shelf but taller)
Takes a few moments once you are proficient. All my sheets have had elastic on all sides
