I’ve been using Purelymail for a bit over a year now. It’s nothing special, just a cheap email provider with full IMAP and SMTP support so you can use any client you want. You can also connect as many domains as you want, make as many accounts as you want and you have unlimited storage.

Self-hosting email is quite the undertaking… I don’t have the energy to deal with it and just pay 10€/year for a hosting service.
