I don’t believe that transphobes would decry this depiction, even today, because it aligns with their sensibilities.

It’s very distinct. I wouldn’t call it vomit, but it’s a lingering chemical-ey taste.
I think I have a mutation in a taste bud or something, but Sucralose is really a prominent and nasty taste to me in anything it’s in. Really frustrating to taste it in otherwise sugary drinks, like some of the Monster flavors.
For reference, I also think cilantro tastes like soap. No clue if that’s an indicator or not.

They changed the license on benchy, which is the thing that they needed to do to end the whole fiasco. I saw plenty of discussion and the internet is really good at inflaming passions. I wouldn’t classify what I saw as panic, but I think concern and confusion was rampant.
I’m lucky enough to live over a business that allows me to use their Internet as a part of my lease, I do have 25Mbps. A marked upgrade from the non-business options in the area.
I would guess it’s to appeal to the greater United States audience of readers, as at least in my experience most people live in an area where speeds are still measured in the hundreds of Mbps. This would allow for a more direct and distinctly dramatic comparison.
It’s doing what it was made to do: be abnormal enough to cause people to diagetically share their brand.
