No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Where do I find cool stickers?
11·2 days agoTemu.
Temu is great for small things like pins and stickers. Going to a convention just to go through all the trouble for a sticker, doesn’t sound worth it.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•do most people really like the taste and smell of eggs?
3·5 days agoI do. I’m actually making eggs right now. I just know how to make them not burnt. Maybe people suck at cooking eggs, I don’t know.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do some users have zero upvotes on their new posts/comments?
11·6 days agoWhy are we caring about score points?
I care so little about the arrows that I treat it like a scoreboard sometimes. If I see that I’ve got 1 Upvote and 2 Downvotes, I’ll throw up a upvote to tie. I’ll treat it like it’s a sports game too if it’s tied.
“AND WITH A SWING, HE HITS A HOME RUN!! THE GAME IS NOW 6 - 5! BALL GAME OVER!!”
We need a starterpack instance on here. I loved that subreddit.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What do you do when you're lacking direction in life?
4·10 days agoStart trying to do things you feel you must do. Those dead end friends? Fuck them, remove them, they haven’t amounted a damn thing in your life for a long time and all they want to do is just do the same routines for years.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Am I financially enabling child labor in 3rd world countries by buying second hand fast fashion?
3·11 days agoIf we want to be dead honest about it - yes. It’s like second-hand guilt. You’re buying it off from someone who, whether they care or not, bought it first hand that it was made through child labor in 3rd world country. They donated it, they didn’t want it and you went to get it. You’re in possession of said item with the knowledge of how it was made.
Just because you weren’t the first who bought it, doesn’t cancel out just buying it altogether.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Question for the Americans. If Canada, Venezuela, Mexico, or Greenland dropped a nuke on Washington DC, would you be angry at the bomb dropper, or would you think we had that coming?
1·11 days agoAnd then turn around and make us suffer twice as bad over it, because fucking reasons.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Question for the Americans. If Canada, Venezuela, Mexico, or Greenland dropped a nuke on Washington DC, would you be angry at the bomb dropper, or would you think we had that coming?
5·11 days agoI would be upset at them as much as I’m upset for what the US is doing to those countries.
Because, dropping a nuke is a very exaggerated and an unnecessarily strong approach to send a message. Nuclear warfare is a thing everyone universally fears of happening, except psychopaths like Putin who’d resort to them if things don’t go his way.
They should understand that there are people in this country who didn’t want this regime, didn’t vote this regime and don’t agree with every action the regime takes. Nor does every american endorse and praise the actions the american government, past and present, has inflicted on the globe with racking up casualties through war and other proxy missions.
It’d be reckless, tone-deaf and outright stupid. Dropping a nuke, just one nuke, will bring us over the edge to that nuclear warfare scenario. Because the US WILL respond in kind.

3·12 days agoYou just got to take chances and hope the person you’re meeting is where you’ll end up meeting them in. Also, random chance happenings.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do old people still remember their childhood? Do people just start losing their memories and their sense of self as they get older?
2·21 days agoThere’s a video I watched that demonstrated VHS quality degrading by generation. And that to me was the accurate depiction of how human memory can work like. Every waking hour, we are making new memories and those new memories have a chance of overwriting the old ones as we grow older. New experiences, new people, new places, even going different routes than your usual all can have that impact.
Some people’s memories are better than others. In my case, I can’t really recall a lot from my earlier childhood, it is all just bits and pieces. My teenage years is about as far back as my memory goes, my young adulthood is more remembered and the last 5 years are like yesterday to me at times.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why does apartment management expect you to call the police over every tenant incident?
1·22 days agoWhat world do you live in, where nobody is entitled to quietness and peace? Of course there are things that can’t be dealt with. You can’t go outside and tell the carpet cleaning company that their equipment is too loud to stop it. That is what it is. You can’t report an idiot with loud music from their car who happens to pass by.
But the problem lies when you’re able to hear stupid children of a tenant through the walls directly from yours for nearly all hours of the day. When you have to actually evacuate what was once your bedroom to pile nearly everything into one living room, so now you’re paying for only a third of the apartment (I pay close to $900 by the way). All because there’s a couple who occasionally likes to argue around 1 in the morning and a rambling old seemingly drunk asshole rambling about shit all throughout the night at the same period of the morning.
If you’re paying a landlord $900 a month, close to because RUB charges are involved (base is actually 795) and the lease agreement explicitly goes into a part of the lease agreement. Here, I’ve even taken a snippet from bullet point 9:
“No noise or disturbance allowed: Lessee, Lessee’s guests, occupants and invitees shall not become intoxicated, disorderly, harass or solicit residents, their guests or others, create or cause any odors or create or permit any unnecessary, unreasonable or improper noise or disturbance in or about the Premises or the building of which the Premises are a part, including and not by way of limitation, the operation of a stereo, radio or television set or playing of a musical instrument or singing in a manner or at times which might be objectionable to other tenants.”
The fact that it explicitly says ‘No noise’ and goes a little more into it, implies my problem. Considering how much of that goes on and calling the police is my management’s source of resolving things, they should be hiring an on-site residential officer or something because it’d be almost 24/7 with the rate the police would have to be called.
If your landlord is going to tell you to your face that you’re entitled to your peace, they should be the ones doing anything possible to ensure your apartment is as peaceful as possible with problems they can actually deal with.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•I don't understand how Trump gets away with all his senial BS. How come everyone is not telling him to piss off or use the constitution to shut him the hell up?
31·23 days agoBecause the people who didn’t want him, have things to lose and are reluctant to upset their way of life in doing so. That’s the American Way, is to chain and distract the populace just enough where they’re interlocked in indecisiveness as to do or don’t. Please do not shit on these people, I’m absolutely sure if it was entirely worth it, we would’ve started the 2nd Revolution by now from this tyranny that has taken hold on us.
The people who did vote for him - have nothing to lose, which is why they don’t care, which is why they support everything he does.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What do all the subgenres of music mean? How does anyone make sense of them?
510·23 days agoA lot of subgenres are entirely made up.
What makes Speed Metal different than Thrash Metal? They sound the same. What makes Death Metal different than Black Metal? They sound the same.
It is just ways for people to sound very technical for no reason other than to pretend they’re so different.

No it’s virtually impossible because we know and have a good idea where majority of the scammers are from. It’s just the countries don’t do enough shit about them.
