We have joint and personal accounts.

Joint account for bills, if anything were to happen to me I would like her to be able to pay bills, or even see they exist to cancel them.

Joint account for salary deposit and a joint savings on it for covering our 3 months of bills.

Personal account for discretionary spending, each month we put some pocket money in each of our personal account to blow on beer/taco bell/whatever.

Completely agree that it will require effort. But considering there is literally no way for me to donate, the bar for improvement is stupidly low.

They literally throw cash away each month. Without Googles dump truck money I am sure they could increase fundraising to raise what they actually need to operate. Not that they could increase fundraising to match Googles current contributions.

All I see is Google throwing a fuck tonne of money at them, and Mozilla spaffing it on pointless crap. They could probably raise more if Google went away, but they could also reduce spend significantly if they didn’t have stupid money get thrown at them.

Its like giving your kids $100 a day. Sure they could blow it on pay to win games, but what would happen if you reduced it to $10 a day? Probably nothing of note, just less spending on crap.

I’ll have to figure out of I can see it in person, because it reminds me of those 2000’s crappy ultra wide monitors that claimed a normal size but because they were extra wide it ended up being smaller.

Ah, it was the Asus Zenphone. I was going to get the 10 because that remained <6" and I still might because that aspect ratio on the Sony looks insane. I don’t know how anyone could reach the top of that without a ladder.

Anyway, the Zenphone 11 only comes in 6.8". Which is stupid.

It was basically a bad clone of MSN Messenger.

If this works out, then we won’t need specific hardware dedicated to codecs. Buggy drivers can be bypassed as long as the GPU supports Vulkan. VAAPI could be eliminated since everything is moving to Vulkan.

We can use GPU acceleration on Nvidia without needing to use special hacks for their drivers.

VMs that can have Vulkan pass through will be able to have hardware enabled acceleration.

There’s quite a few ideas that this could unlock.

I wasn’t aware of a good reader app, and it required me to use the web view. Unless there is one that I missed?

How well does that work on eink displays? I guess I’ll have to try it, but the Kindle app always tries to add animation on Android.

Because unfortunately that wouldn’t pass the spouse test.

I mean she could, until she is bored.

Plus this is hopefully a self hosted community, so understands that I don’t mind doing a bit of legwork up front to gain an ease of use later down the line.
