I’ve been voting against fascism since '96 and I keep being told to vote for the lesser of two fascisms instead.
Well described. I had this feeling for like 40 years before I really understood that it wasn’t like a personal failing. Treating it now, and wish I had done so sooner.
Nah. I just won’t help bomb civilians at all. I can’t always control whether others help bomb civilians, but I can always control whether I help bomb civilians. Civilian deaths are 99% intentional. They are decided before the bomb is deployed. You will make the bombs knowing they will be used immorally.
But if you look at the actual reality of what happens, those bombs are still used to kill civilians with no repercussions.
electric_nan@lemmy.mlto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•A bit of salt makes it taste more savory102·26 days agoHow can you have a problem with Cowbee? They are the most well-read and patient poster that I see on Lemmy. I can understand disagreeing, but saying Cowbee is “pushing shit” isn’t accurate.
This user is spamming this garbage everywhere. Look at their post history.
You forgot to turn your brain back on.
Hey look, you’re the Democrat in my version of the meme!
Glad you can turn your brain off so quickly. I bet it helps you sleep. I mean it as: who is an actual greater opponent in reality to “leftists who care about human rights”: online “tankies” or Democrats who literally threw an election to Trump, in part over their refusal to stop actively supporting a genocide? Reassess who your real enemies are, and prioritize your battles based on what is actually happening in the world.
I feel like this meme makes more sense if instead of “Tankies”, the character is labeled “Democrats”.
electric_nan@lemmy.mlto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Plex is locking remote streaming behind a subscription in AprilEnglish1·2 months agoI’ve got to admit that I’ve never used Plex (I’m a cantankerous open software fanatic), but how do you get your media on there? You’re hosting your own server so presumably you’re downloading the media somehow. Are you doing it manually? If so, you can do the same with Jellyfin. Is it automated with some tool built into Plex?
electric_nan@lemmy.mlto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Plex is locking remote streaming behind a subscription in AprilEnglish2·2 months agoI’m only sharing access with a few friends and family, so I don’t find it cumbersome. Usually I make their account using the Jellyfin app on my phone. I do sympathize with not wanting to do support, which is the main reason I don’t even ask for help with the hosting costs. I don’t want to feel any obligation.
electric_nan@lemmy.mlto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Plex is locking remote streaming behind a subscription in AprilEnglish472·2 months agoI’m surprised by the resistance to Jellyfin in this thread. If you are using Plex, you’re already savvy enough to use bittorrent and probably the *arrs. If you can configure that stuff, Jellyfin is absolutely something you can handle. If you like Docker, there’s good projects out there. If you’re like me and you don’t understand Docker, use Swizzin community edition. If you can install Ubuntu or Debian, and run the Swizzin script, you’re in business.

Thanks! I miss my hexagonal sibs.

I hope they learn it before this is all over.
