  • Electric cars are indeed much worse for the climate at production time than combustion cars likely will be throughout their entire lifetime.

But this matters little, as the electric car is not made to be the perfect alternative, it is instead made to be the “weird in between solution” that we need to bring as many devices as possible to use a common power source and get people acquainted with the concept, before moving to the actual solution.

The next steps will be better battery technology because, let’s face it, lithium gel batteries suck, and proper power sources.

In the end, I guess it’s kind of a “chicken and egg” situation.

I’m saying that I’m an advocate for equality. :)

Edit: Perhaps I should say “fair treatment” instead of “equality”, as “equality” is rather loaded and can mean different things depending on context. My bad.

And besides, now that I am editing anyway and haven’t received any answers to this comment. I do not think that everyone needs to be tolerant or needs to be tolerated, as that is a fallacy. Tolerate those who tolerate you, respect those who show you respect. And yet, one should at least try to tolerate those who disrespect one, unless they cause you significant harm, as there will always be those with differing opinions.

We can’t make everybody happy, and I personally despise both extremes of this argument; those who tolerate nobody, and those who advokate to tolerate everybody, but themselves choose only to do so when it’s comfortable. Of course this includes those who are so tolerant that they go on ‘witch hunts’ against those who are ‘intolerant’, with little or no aggression from the other side.

  • Oh, that makes sense, and thank you for explaining it!

It’s a grand idea to make an index, not only for better exposure, but I bet it also makes it easier for FNIC communities to handle potential problems in unity - if they want to.

I apologize for making assumptions. It is most definitely a good idea to not have the whole of Lemmies Imaginary communities depend on a single persons whims. Though I’ve personally never had any beef with INE, we often see how bad such communities can end up.

It’s good to have some more pleasant art pop up in my feed, and have a proper place to link people with which I discuss art on Lemmy, so thank you for making FNIC!
