You keep saying this as if you’re the only one while live in a rural place. It seems like you do too but have no idea of what is going on in the fields around you. And this is the exact point of the comment. Fields look like nature but could as well be tarmac when it comes to biodiversity
It is the crops that kill diversity though. Baren fields may actually be better for wildlife
I live right next to two fields and in a village with 30 houses, surrounded by fields.
You just prove the point
Sounds like you think you know even more though?
Fields are made to only maintain life for what is grown on it. There is very little life there besides the plants. Biodiversity wise, they could as well be parking lots. They just look like nature, because, as you say, they are green.
Even that, takes nature away. Birds that naturally nest on flat ground, can’t breed there any more, because moderns crops grow faster than they can grow their chicks.
No - Fields are biodiversity deserts, and farmers want it like this. They look pretty and look like nature, but could as well be sand
Fields are just as dead as parking lots. Just prettier
Why is he carrying a shield with the American flag?
I don’t know. It’s an authorized profession over here, and prices are regulated by the government.
Just a small adjustment to his stiff neck issue that he picked up a few months ago
This hits hard…
I woke up early today (without an alarm) because I had to bring my dog to a chiropractor at noon.
So I had a cup of coffee and a pipe, watching the morning dew dry up
It’s one of 3 days off this week, and that’s only because I sacrificed one additional day off to fake an extra shift on Friday. It pays double though, because of union regulations, even though I’d have taken it for regular pay anyway.
The only difference is, that I don’t have friends to meet up with, mostly because I don’t want to, and that I’m not in a drinking mode yet, but sounds like I could pick that up at some point

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What are the most confusing false friends from your language to another that are spelled exactly the same?
49·3 months agoIn Danish, and probably other Scandinavian languages, the word for speed, is ‘fart’. In older days it also meant movement, so it is part of a bunch of other words. Therefore we have word like
- Fartkontrol (speed control)
- Fartpilot (cruise control)
- Topfart (top speed)
- Middelfart (city in Denmark)
- Overfart (ferry crossing)
- Fartbump (speed bump)
- Fartblind (unaware of one’s speed)
- Fartplan (timetable)
- Nedfart (descent)
- Dampfart (steam navigation)
- Indfart (entry road)

I meant it is the same way as ‘assimilate’ but I don’t really know what would be most appropriate

4·6 months agoPersonally i only use youtube to doomscroll “shorts” because I don’t have facebook, instagram or tik tok for that. It’s really no pleasure as such, but a good way to just turn wind down.
My main issue is that most of the information and knowledge that i used to get from reading blog posts, or forum threads, has become videos, with the majority of the content being irellevant

The Danish verb smøre is a general verb meaning ‘to spread’ or ‘apply’ a substance onto a surface. It is used for butter, sunscreen, cream, ointment, and similar substances. So its basically a wordplay, calling it a butter shop or butter stall
