Well, at least its better than getting salmoned by a catfish. that was an experience.

2·8 months agoThis is true, but I dont think any will fit the saturn build plate, or none I am aware of. I just take the prints off the supports or plate and put them in the wash basket.

1·8 months agoElegoo are my goto for resin printing, they are one of the more open manufacturers, and their ABS-like 3.0 is actually very ABS like. I use it a lot for model railway parts and it goes very well.
I use a Saturn 2, but either Saturn 4 or Mars 5 (ultra has more features but ofc more expensive) would do well. Of your choices, I would definitely recommend the Saturn 4. their Mercury wash and cure stations go quite well. I still use Isopropyl for washing, but they do a resin cleaner mix that sone swear by.
I haven’t “required” any, although I am someone who enjoys modding their printers, so not all of them are still stock. Nothing required though. I do with mine all the time, although some say one should never do this. I have not yet run into issues with any of my sovols in this regard.
This is true, it seems the repo for the ace plus isnt updated yet, however the repo exists, likely just got forgotten to be updated. Given their track record it probably just got delayed during the sovol zero release tbh. It is taking up most of their attention at the momwbt
I know a lot will say Bambu, but Sovol make excellent machines and their support is awesome from my experience. Plus, the benefit of their ecosystem being actually open, and open source for most of their stuff, vs bambu lockdowns.
I cannot recommend sovol enough,l. I have 4 of their machines with a 5th soon, among others that I have, and they definitely have been worth it.

3DPrinting@lemmy.world•I have a question in regards to 3d modeling for a filament slicer addon to my hotendEnglish
1·8 months agoIt really does depend on your cad skill level, but basically you would need to make a mounting setup to incorporate both. it is certainly doable, but tbh I would have a look at some cad files from existing setups, and what may be involved.
to be completeltly honest, it would likely be easier to use a Stealthburner mount for Ender 3, and build a Filametrix Stealthburner which incorporates the whole cutter and extruder into the toolhead, then just make some sort of mount for thr lever trigger. some probably already exist tbh!

3DPrinting@lemmy.world•Is there an independent model database?English
4·10 months agoThey used to be. As of the Mk4 and XL they no longer share a lot of their designs, and the source is also closed.
Very sad to see.

5·1 year agothe spacing between the ripples appears to be approximately the rotation distance of the wheels, is it only on that axis? ie. is it along the left/right side from the pics perspective or only the front/back?
i would check the wheels on the axis it appears for any damage or debris, and the wheel path.
You need quite the opposite, more cooling on those overhangs. As you are in the chamber, the heated air wont cause warping like outside an enclosure, so crank those speeds on overhangs. I generally run 80-100% on bridges anf steep overhangs. I do also slow down print speed on overhangs significantly to allow more cooling aswell

Do you want ghosts? because this is how you get ghosts.
(in seriousneas though i love this idea)
