Otherwise I hate you for asking. Nothing makes a show/movie unwatchable more than having the text of what a character is going to say shoved in my face before they say it. I’d rather get kicked in the balls repeatedly than watch shit with subtitles. It’s less severe torture.
On kindle, if you tap the middle of the screen, then click the little Aa up top, you get formatting options. On reflowable formats, you can go to the more tab and uncheck the animation button. On ones that are fixed pages, it should be one of the only options.
Same, have a boox, getting a second boox, and really wish I had a better option to track location across devices. KOReader is a nice reader experience, but browsing books sucks. I use a blend of moon reader and the built in app depending on my mood, but neither feels as good as maple reader on my iPad, and nothing I’ve found can really sync my location.

Definitely a legit way to make great coffee. I don’t usually have the 10 minutes it takes not to scorch it in the morning, but I do bring it camping and on vacation.
Starbucks isn’t great espresso, but there’s a reason espresso drinks cost what they do. There’s a lot more labor, a genuinely obscenely expensive machine, or both involved in making it in a shop like that.

Yeah the matching donations was the obvious answer. It’s honestly a decent way to do charity as a company (obviously bigger ticket contributions are good, too), because it rewards them for their choices by increasing their value, and your contributions are going places that have some support behind them from your employees. Finding worthwhile causes that don’t get money has value, but it’s really hard and expensive to do.

It does suck for someone who wanted anything useful I posted, but ultimately I think Reddit having it to draw any traffic is more harmful. I want them to lose their stranglehold now that they’re abusing it.

DRM is allegedly “copy protection”, but in reality is absolute control over how you access content. Want to stream a movie on the wrong computer/browser? Fuck you.
Want to browse a website without 100 trackers injected to make sure everyone who might want to knows your entire browsing history? Sucks to be you. Want to block ads because there isn’t an (web) ad platform out there that does the due diligence to avoid providing a substantial vector for malware? Nah. Need help from accessibility tools that Google hasn’t white listed? Maybe just don’t be disabled.
Ignoring that they must be hashed to be acceptable and that it’s not possible for 1000 characters of text to add up to a waste of storage worth mentioning in pretty much any environment, it’s literally impossible for a 128 character password limit to be beneficial in any way.
A limit below that demonstrably lowers security by a huge margin.
