MikroTik is just as serious a network company as Cisco or Juniper, and vastly more serious from an enterprise networking point of view than trendnet.

The intent is to give you about one free t4g.small instance for free each month, but they don’t care how you actually use it. If you want to leave a single instance up 24/7, cool. If you want to trial a larger project that has multiple supporting instances also cool, but you’re not getting anything free beyond the equivalent of a single instance running 24/7.
