8·27 days agonot necessarily. for example we say things like “the lion is the king of the jungle,” but that doesn’t mean there’s only one lion per jungle. sometimes we refer to an archetypal singular to convey something about every member of a group

28·1 month agoI’ll save you a read, nobody knows. a theory that connects it to the 27 club (various celebrity musicians who died at the age of 27) is debunked. it’s proposed that a white lighter could be more easily stained by cannabis resin, and thus be a giveaway
it’s not a joke, the National Socialist Party of America was headquartered in Chicago. there was a famous supreme court case about their right to hold a demonstration in the mostly-Jewish suburb of Skokie that took place in 1977, three years before the movie came out
edit: to clarify, the legal case took place in 77. the Nazis won but the demonstration never actually happened

yeah I had something similar with the Beatles, where literally my first memory of music is Abbey Road, so my whole life I was like, I don’t get the hype, that’s just what music sounds like. it was only recently I went and listened to the album again with context of what other music from the 60s was like, and I finally realized that they were truly doing some wild shit with songwriting and production
