Rosanne Barr would have absolutely ruined the show and it would never have been as popular.

ZWave is also another great mesh network, and Bluetooth can also work if the right integration is there.
I’ve had good luck with either Sonoff or Tuya. Look on Aliexpress for much cheaper options. Just make sure you get the Tuya Zigbee vs WiFi devices as they’re sometimes listed on the same item but just a different “color” option when ordering.
I use this with zigbee2mqtt
One runs Home Assistant (Pi4), and an older one runs RetroPi (Pi3) for my arcade cabinet.
I have another Pi3 that I used to use as a Steam Streaming device to put my PC games on the projector.
It’s called Amazon Sidewalk and it’s still a thing. When you set up any Amazon device, it defaults to on unless you click it off.
Can’t you do that with admin users vs regular users? Pretty sure you can restrict dashboards by admin vs non-admin
I use the dashboard for a quick overview of my house, devices that are on, status of my home servers (with the ability to remotely put my desktop to sleep), low battery levels, quick toggles for certain modes (vacation mode, Housecleaners mode, guest mode).
It’s all in what you put on the dashboards that makes them amazing extensions of your house.
Here’s what I see in my Settings warning section:
Command Line YAML configuration has moved
This stops working in version 2023.12.0. Please address before upgrading.
Configuring Command Line sensor using YAML has moved.
Consult the documentation to move your YAML configuration to integration key and restart Home Assistant to fix this issue.
Absolutely. I had never even heard of Lemmy or anything Fediverse prior to all the 3rd party API shutdown. Once Apollo died, I stopped using Reddit.
Thanks for the info. I always get nervous when I update versions and see warnings. Still need to deal with the configuration.YAML changes that will be breaking come December.
If you also enjoy 3D printing, there’s a fun project to make an NFC tag reader with ESPHome. I use it for a jukebox where my playlists are NFC chips with the corresponding Spotify URLs. It lets anyone in the house tap a playlist to play. Much easier than having to get your phone out, and it’s reminiscent of flipping through CDs back in the day.
