in older medicine cabinets in addition to smelling salts you can also find small glass ampules of ammonia that work similarly. You had to break the glass tip off the capsule and that lets the stank out. They reeeeek!

cold food hot bowl is a direct sign of not having good microwaveable dishes.

My in laws have this white corelle stuff that swears it’s microwave safe on the bottom but it gets hot as fuck when you reheat food. i don’t think it’s just because it’s thin either if you try to melt butter in it the dishes get very hot.

The glass bentgo containers i use for storing food seem to be completely invisible to the microwaves. You can get food bubbling hot and still grab the glass container to pull it out and it’s completely cool.

I have been using this machine for years and love it. You can get rid of the milk frother squeal by using a larger frother cup, I have two and the smaller one that came with the machine is really noisy!

What i do is let the wand run deep in the cup and roil the milk and get it really hot, then slowly lower the cup bringing the tip of the frother up towards the surface of the half and half where it then generates very fine foam and increases the volume. Then i stop when i have the volume just right for the cup i’m using (partners to go cups can’t hold as much foam.

I can’t do latte art but i have gotten very good at drawing peoples initials with the foam!

after 5 or 6 glasses that wiener be looking mighty fine
