This mine is abandoned, and those tailings contain asbestos. During operation, green dust (asbestos) would blow everywhere. Kids playing in the snow would caution others to ‘eat around the green’ so they don’t get sick.

Not who you are replying to, but anyway. I generally find this place a lot better than reddit. Everything you point out is valid, RE: core problem. Moderating is volunteer work, and by nature mods have authority. The real crux as you point out is the lack of ability to appeal a ban. That and lack of ban standardization even amongst mods. Paying mods wouldn’t help really. You can’t ask mods to attend a so you want to be a moderator: a training program for those still in denial about their agoraphobia program.

Because instances admins can ultimately take their ball and go home like you mention. It’s a tricky situation.

Rand starts gathering men who can channel (Asha’man), and builds the black tower. The first man he brings to his cause is Mazrim Taim. Taim is a very strong channeler, and close rival to Rand (much like Demandred was).

There is a lot of friction between Rand and Taim as Rand gives him license to train men, and essentially anoints him to the male equivalent of the Amyrlin.

Friction continues, Taim starts training his hand picked guys who are loyal to him showing them stuff he doesn’t show others.

Eventually Taim is shown as a dark friend.
