I don’t know what minerals they place in the packets exactly, but some salts tend to be very sensitive to moisture and attract moisture from the atmosphere (more so than sugar or table salt). Kept in a paper satchel, which is permeable to moisture, they could potentially absorb enough moisture to become a wet goopy mess in a paper packet. So my guess is that they use plastic for stability reasons of their mix. Sure, they could sell it in glass jars with a measuring spoon, I guess.

Paracetamol is not anti-inflammatory in any serious context, which is to say taking paracetamol to reduce actual inflammation (think gout or rheumatoid arthritis) is more or less useless. From the wikipedia article on paracetamol:

Paracetamol inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by reducing the active form of COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes. This occurs only when the concentration of arachidonic acid and peroxides is low. Or there was plastic stuck to the machines used to sample and it contaminated the area during sampling. Or there was plastic in the lab during testing. Though potentially those should have been ruled out by testing a blank sample and a control sample of just the ‘empty’ sampling equipment.

A small correction of the chemical nature, Teflon is PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), which belongs to the class PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances).

PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic acid) also belongs to the same class, PFAS.

That’s fair I guess, I was a bit shocked to read about aheists having to conceal their true convictions and go to church and such for actual fear of being harmed. Now I read this on that other site a while ago, and still not sure whether it’s true or not.

Well articulated. I’m not from the US, but I’ve seen housing developments go sideways when they built four 10-story blocks (not in somebody’s back yard, but in an area without proper infrastructure) and after 1000ish people had moved in there were 1 hour long queues just to get out of the complex because there was only one road with one lane per direction. And the only bus stop was not really reliable.

This was not built in the middle of the city because of land availability (and huge prices even if there was land available - you’re near the metro and tram and a bus stop? pay 50% more. oh, you’re near a park too? pay 50% more on top of that). Should we just tear down old buildings in low density areas in the city to make room for big blocks? Some might be worth tearing down because of age and overall condition, but good luck getting people to move out.

I brew my own as well, but I think I only brewed an IPA once or twice (I got black IPA once by accidentally being too liberal with my hop additions). Never saw the need for it since I can just head to my local beer store, throw a stone and hit an IPA.
