Fast food is often the only restaurant option for people working night shifts. I used to clock out at 5am. You know what’s open at 5am, when you’re hungry but too tired to cook dinner because you’ve been on your feet for ten hours? Fast food. Maybe a diner if you’re near a truck route, but honestly that’s not much different.

It’s far from the only way society ignores the needs of people who keep everything running behind the scenes, but it sure was annoying.

I don’t think it should be tied to “manliness” but people should have some basic understanding of the tools they use and how they work.

Collaberations and word-of-mouth are the main ways I find new creators, the algorithm sucks at understanding the finer points.

Internet Europeans seem to think we don’t have bakeries or breweries or dairy…ies… so it’s only fair to assume the inverse.

The US is too big to have a unified cuisine. The UK is hard to compare to because even their accents vary much more across a small geographic area, their cultural regions are strictly divided and enforced thanks to deeply entrenched classism and social pressure.

Also I just flat disagree that cuisines like Cajun/Creole or Tex Mex or Southwest/Santa Fe don’t qualify as true US cuisines.

Every few decades? Washington state has around a dozen noticeable quakes every year (out of about a thousand measureable events) They cause damage every six years or so. I’d be surprised if coastal California was statistically very different.

Black Knight is really good, a top 5 for me. Attack From Mars is my favorite. Other notables: Medieval Madness, Champion Pub, and of course the ubiquitous Addams Family and Twilight Zone.
