memes@lemmy.world•I'm actually going to play this one, I promise
72·6 days agoSo I went to look up the origin of the image in this macro and it turns out that almost this exact meme (unplayed Steam games) was like the first iteration of it in meme form, appearing only a hour after the original photo was posted to Reddit.

I was really enjoying wallabag for a while, but after an update (or something?) the container no longer connects to the db and I haven’t been smart enough to figure out why yet.
BUT when it works it’s got a nice interface and the Firefox extension clips articles quickly. Biggest downside I’ve run into is the iOS app can’t make highlights or annotations, and it sometimes randomly reloads an article while reading and ‘forgets’ its place.

4·16 days agoSeriously! I’m absolutely baffled by the comments here talking about how analog clocks are somehow this bizarre anarchism from the distant past that is just sooooooo difficult to understand. Wtf has been going on over there??

31·3 months agoManual ordering of images in albums is an absolute must before I adopt any image management system. It’s wierd to me that seemingly none of the FOSS systems support it (considering that most of us are datahoading control freaks).

2·10 months agoI just spun up Wallabag on my server the other day to replace Omnivore. Im going to take a look at this, but does anyone have experience or thoughts on how this compares? I’m not so deep into it yet that I couldn’t switch to Linkwarden if it’s better.
My main uses would be archiving articles and highlighting passages.

11·10 months agoThere he is! Hey, big shooter!
I remember having this conversation with my mom when I was young and saying something like, “Well that’s great then, this is an easy win. Scientists should be able to examine them and confirm the change and then we know what the Bible is telling us is true,” and she replied that that’s not how faith works. And I was dumbfounded and like, “But… it would be so easy…”
And that lesson of how willfully choosing ignorance is somehow something to be valued was a key turning point in my waking up to the bullshit of religion. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

4·1 year agoWith the demise of Omnivore I was about to roll out an alternative on my NAS. How does this compare to Wallabag?
Snowy has the right idea in this picture.
It’s from the movie Snatch. Banger of a classic!
And XMB was their last good interface design. Each one since just gets progressively more wtf.

Lots of great advice here but this stands out as a really good bit that a lot of people (including myself) need to consider.
