No, seriously, I’ve got a bunch of yard work to do.
I once had a series of those suburban yards. Now, my rural yard is mostly some grasses, wild strawberry, and dandelion. There’s ants, spiders, slugs, praying mantis, ladybugs and others that mimic them, and worms. I let one corner do its thing and now it’s full of bees. I no longer use water, fertilizer or weedkiller. I just mow it. It’s always green, though what’s growing well changes with the season and conditions. Nature takes care of itself, despite me running my mower over it.
I thought about not mowing it. But, I’m worried about rodents, snakes, and black bear getting too close. I should probably plant some native trees and shrubs to eat some space.
The stories from Kenosha and Racine are in a league of their own.
This is common in US motels and some hotels. It’s supposed to say that one should put their towel on the floor, rather than the rack, to have it replaced.
Then can we have meaningful change?
Then ground out bypasses the body.
Makes sense. I’d not sell a hack job. But, for a temporary thing that’s mine, sure.
The suburban solution is to create a false dichotomy to rationalize outsourcing a simple electrical issue to Lowes.
The hack solution is to cut two ends and reterminate them.
I’d hack it. To do it well it’s 8 crimps, wire loom, and harness tape. So, 10 minutes and $5.
It could. But, there’s more layers to this swiss cheese model of safety. For example, the lineman’s procedure is to ground out, then isolate, then test. They’d need to skip both ground out and test to be electrocuted by an asshole with a generator.
(If you) are sure you understand how they work
And
If you really need one
I understand how power systems work. But, I can’t come up with a situation where I’d use a male-male AC cord rather than a safer and more reliable alternative. Most relevant is simply cutting off the female termination and reterminating through a breaker to the outlet ($15 and 15 min).
Technical details and the social contract mandate that your generator is never connected to the main power grid. The generator should be wired to an enclosed AC transfer switch. This switch will connect either the generator or the main grid to your home, but never both.
Some detail: If the generator is wired to the main grid it can prevent restoration of main grid power. While an AC transfer switch will perform the task, many jurisdictions mandate additional safety precautions (which can be quite expensive).
My 14’ trailer, build out to live in it, and my truck to tow it combined cost less than what’s in the OP.
I see them around the US as well. But, not many. They’re really expensive relative a common domestic 4WD van.
Realism would be the blue/grey smoke of a blown head gasket.
It ain’t much I’m asking, if you want the truth,
Here’s to the future, hear the cry of youth,
I want it all, I want it all,
I want it all, and I want it now.
I went back out with my flashlight and saw the same hundreds of eyes. Fucking gators.
Sober, at night, in the desert: Hundreds of eyes, like stars in the sky. Fucking spiders.
Mushrooms can give you a pretty bad trip as well,
I agree.
at least it doesn’t last as long as acid.
Also, one can also mitigate the effects with induced vomiting, alcohol, or sleep. A batch of shrooms never has byproducts or laced drugs. If they’re particularly strong then grind them up, weigh doses, and encapsulate.
I took my last dose of LSD more than twenty years ago. Everyone shouldn’t choose as I do because they’re not me. My only intent is people make wiser choices.
My advice for either one is make sure you have people around that you love and trust - being alone or being with strangers can be bad news.
Far more important than squabbles over which one is better to start with. I was an adolescent that took what was in front of me while back of car camping with friends, a few acting as babysitters.
If you had relatively clean LSD and mushrooms, both of which you’d sampled, which would you recommend the hypothetical beginner I’d addressed?
If it’s LSD then something’s fucked in your supply or you’re a unique personality that doesn’t realize they’re different from the vast majority of others in some fundamental way.
I can definitely understand how some people would prefer LSD afterwards, with experience. I’d advise that person that long term LSD usage, even microdosing for performance enhancement, will definitely have permanent effects upon their psyche. Maybe good, maybe bad. Future them will decide.
Listen up, buster, I don’t recommend hardcore psychedelics to the curious beginner. Neither should you. Start with mushrooms. Easier access anyhow.
