Reddit got more important once it Google ranked higher and the astroturfs found out, that people trust a review on Reddit inside a thread more, than multi million dollar marketing scam action, trying to game Google algorithm or other sites. The same will sooner or later happen to the fediverse if it ever grows. It’s unavoidable, sadly.
Damn, if only Spez didn’t have fucked up Reddit. I even wanted to invest in that IPO, but now I’m not going to.

I called it. However I didn’t expect them to do it that early.
I had this issue once and it was because of a browser extension. Check if it’s gone if you disable all. Worth a try.
Maybe the option should be removed, because technically you could create your own private Lemmy instance and mirror everything but disable deletion. Now you have all the information available people deleted. You could go even further and create a browser plugin so everyone else could see all deleted posts. You could do the same and create a plugin, to display usernames of everyone who voted on a post, as that information is publicly available. It’s just hidden. So there’s still a lot of work on Lemmy required to streamline this or it might get never solved.
On another note you could create an instance that only displays deleted content. Now I wonder what that looks like. Scary.
You’d think, thanks to removing HDDs, we’d no longer need file duplicates (because physics) and games get smaller again. But then you get unoptimized 4k textures and huge language packs for the 10000 hours of cutscenes, which you all have to always download. sigh

Thank you. At least one person here knows what anti-natalism actually stands for. People would do good on at least reading the Wikipedia article, instead of already dooming a new community, only because on Reddit child free subreddits promoted a hostile environment. They aren’t even the same thing.
I’ve noticed however that people get incredible sensitive on the topic of “don’t have children”, where all reasoning is thrown out of the window. It’s one of those topics that clashes with the biology, psychology and social indoctrination of individuals. It’s highly unlikely to possibly discuss this with a lot of people, who lack self reflection and awareness of their surroundings. Because if we’re honest, most people live their life on auto mode anyways.
Of course unregulated subreddit or sublemmy, will unavoidably drift into the extrem. All of them have this tendency, that’s why moderators and rules are important. One might argue that it’s a natural cause of unregulated topics and discussions, as humans themselves are socially diverse and at the same time very controversial beings, whom prefer to form groups/tribes and ultimately end with a self amplifying echo chamber if not constantly reminded and course corrected.
Back to anti-natalism, people at least should understand the decision table of life vs no life, possible suffering vs no suffering. It’s simple logic in my eyes. Not even talking about the current future were heading, which in itself exposes the selfish act of reproduction.
And lastly, it’s sad to see people question your sanity for correcting and explaining a maliciously twisted topic. Seriousness of educated people often gets mistaken as mental issue by the lesser. I’m not even that smart and often want to scream at the screen. Best to practice some stoicism, my friend.

I use Connect app on my Android. I don’t use Lemmy desktop yet, as I dislike the UI a lot. Quality of life features, like infinite scroll, are missing because of personal believes, which I disagree with.
I didn’t believe him, I believed the positive messages he send and implanted. I don’t care about him nowadays, but I also don’t regret internalizing certain stuff he preached. It wasn’t totally bullshit of what he said, until a point where he completely drifted off.
Thankfully I stopped watching any of his stuff quite a while before that happened, so I dodged this whole mess and only saw the burning ship wrack from the distance. I understand the hard feelings of others who are more involved in this topic though.
To agree, that something someone said, was correct, isn’t a bad thing. Even if the stuff that follows is off the mark.
To regret that, would also mean regretting failure, but without failure there’s no progress.
