Super cool! Unfortunately I will immediately forget it.

Just make sure you are not planting Asclepias curassavica or tropical milkweed (unless you are in the tropics). That grows year round and monarch butterflies will lay their eggs in it and not migrate south for the winter. That leads to dead monarch butterflies and dead eggs.
Not specifically, no. When I did change to building my own NAS, I cracked open my older 4TB backup drive to use as a spare.
I’m lost with what I’d need to do to access my server from outside my local network, and terrified of doing something wrong and leaving a hole open so any hacker can access my server. I’d like to do it some day, but I’d rather have a safe local network than screw and get my data stolen or deleted.
Setup a VPN via Wireguard or Tailscale. I personally have not done that but I have VPN setup through OpenVPN which I did not find that hard and people say that is significantly harder than Wireguard.
The other (less safe) option would be to setup a DMZ on your network for stuff you want to self host. That is a bit more involved though. I went through it for fun and setup a public Nextcloud instance along with DDNS and a reverse proxy. I was just messing around though and shut it down after testing performance.
In my case the story was definitely believable when I was younger. My grandmother and one of her sisters were orphaned and sent to a workhorse because my great grandparents could not afford them. I used to think my grandmother did not know her parents but using ancestry.com my mom connected with someone who she thought was simply a family friend growing up but turned out to be her cousin from her aunt who was not orphaned. Going through my ancestry, there is almost certainly nobody who is native. Grandma may have been a little nuts (one of the caregivers beat her do bad that she lost an eye so being a little nutty is fairly understandable).
Good point on few data points for native Americans. Many of them stay the fuck away from DNA testing nowadays so I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
That’d be seven generations back. For me that’d be in the late 1700s. Did they keep records for that back then?
Not surprising. My mother was told by her mother that one of her great grandmothers was full blooded native (no specific tribe) which would make me 1/16 native. DNA showed 0% and one my mother took showed 0% for her. She chalked it up to her mother being nuts but it is a fairly common American family myth.
If they are up for that, I’d be happy to part with mine for cheap. They’d need to get an E5-2650 (v2) to meet their 16 core requirement but a pair of those are pretty cheap.
You can usually find HPs for cheaper although they are pretty picky on what they work with. For some reason, HP decided that it will work with stuff they have not certified but the fans will constantly be at 100%.
You can find HP Proliant dl360 G8s and G9s for about that price if you want enterprise grade.
I recognize that calculus book.
The compostable pods are not plastic…or at least not fossil fuel based plastic. The pod itself along with the grounds goes right into yard waste. The pods that I do buy surprisingly come to about the same price I would pay for beans. My parents did give me a coffee pot but that is more for when I have guests. I’m the only one in the house that drinks coffee and it’s generally only two cups a day.
I’ll look into making my own cheese strings. Seems like it might be pretty simple.
Quite a few east Asian countries unfortunately. The Asian grocery store down the street is probably 50% plastic wrap by weight. .
On an American note, I recall buying compostable Keurig pods in bulk from a company that advertised how comparing is good for the environment. I had previously bought them in 12 pod batches which came in one resealable plastic bag. I received a box of 72 individually plastic wrapped pods. I emailed them to check to see if maybe those were made off industrially compostable plastic. Nope.
Also looking at my kids’ string cheese being wrapped and then individually wrapped makes me cringe. I have to find another solution for that.
Oof ouch owie my planet.
Jackfruit pulled pork is damn good.
I was actually surprised at how recent the bike infrastructure was in downtown Indianapolis so using a scooter to get around would not be bad in downtown at least.
The removal of these is a conspiracy by the machines to keep us in the Matrix.
Because SQLite is slow as balls. Use MariaDB and redis:

I was just annoyed that there was no y-axis values.
I’ve seen probably a dozen. My neighbor’s bf has one actually. No idea why he got one other than he might be highly invested in Tesla. He also has a Model 3. But then his other car is a late 70s F-150.
