This works on most I’ve encountered, but not all. New gas station near me built less than 2 years ago has no mute button, and the ads play 24/7 whether someone is there or not. If you are pumping gas late at night with nobody else around you get to hear 10 pumps all blaring ads to nobody and each milliseconds out of sync. It’s totally fucked.

I deleted my Facebook account in 2010 after my college English professor forced us to use it for an assignment. He thought he was hip; I thought it was disgusting. Anyway fast forward a dozen years and like OP says basically the only way to buy and sell used shit now is through FB marketplace. A USB WiFi adapter was easily $100 at the time and besides, if I wanted to use dongles to achieve basic functionality I would have just bought an apple product.

To be fair, i installed linux on an old laptop and i just cannoy get the wifi to be reliable. I found myself reading about the minutia of intel wifi drivers and how wifi works in detail just to try tonsolve this issue.

I had this exact experience. I tried multiple distros too. In the end I had to go back to windows because that’s the only way the wifi worked short of replacing hardware and it just wasn’t worth that.

I had 10k hours in DotA before DotA2 was even a thing. DotA2 never pulled me in quite the same, but even so the best day of my life was when I uninstalled that shit for good in 2015.

Despite all these shortcomings Oblivion is still my favorite TES game. The only thing that stops me from replaying it is the god-awful leveling system that requires loads of planning and min-maxing to make a character I am satisfied with. It’s just so gosh darned beautiful and relaxing…as long as one completely ignores Kvatch.

For me it was Warcraft 3 custom maps. And I’d probably still be playing it if blizzard hadn’t fucking destroyed it. Fuck blizzard forever.
