That old usage is still very much still in use in the UK. It’s usually used to signify uncouth and crass behaviour with being loud and obnoxious.
Not every USian is, but those that follow those traits are usually USian.

Several different names for the 4 different countries it should split into.
Cascadia (obviously) - in the west border line is the Rockies.
Mississippi - all the flat corn states and those whose purpose comes from the river. Basically all the land between the Rockies and the Appalachians, but not including the great lakes states.
Southern states - all those East of the Appalachians but South of Virginia including Florida.
Northern states - all those North of Virginia and may include the lake states too but…
The lake states might just join Canada or go independent and call themselves Iroquois or something…
Alaska is Canadian, as it should be. Texas is Mexican (again), as it should be. Hawaii is now independent and tied to New Zealand, as it should be.
Sourdough starter can be left for at least 2-3 weeks between feeds and it’ll perk right up again with a little love.
I blame the need for this on the Swedes and their worker-centric culture allowing for months off. USians would never have this problem with their maximum 2 weeks off. Take that Sweden!

I make my own sandwich bread, and it’s far nicer than the bought stuff. Yeast based, not sourdough but that’s fine too. I use a tin for those. They’re generally more wet - about 70% hydration. They’d be fine not in a tin but would be flatter, and would benefit from chilling.
I also make “rustic” loaves which are drier and stiffer about 60% and are firm enough to not need a pan at all.

The AI overview says about the 24-25 stat is about 90gb but that’s not the main driver for the shortage. It’s more due the first bit of my statement - AI. The companies creating these AI models are sucking up all the RAM.

44 and can remember lots about what I did as a 3-4 year old including first day at kindy and school, Christmases etc. phone numbers, birthdays, dates and everything. Can recall much of my time throughout my teens and 20s too.
Don’t ask me what I did last weekend though. Time goes much faster as you get older (perceptively) and I don’t feel different but know I’m getting older because I’m watching my kids grow up into (mostly) functional humans. Often I’m shocked it’s the weekend again.
Thanks for reading the whole post before commenting
It’s been a running joke between us for at least 20 years!

This will go down as part of the history when discussing the downfall of the US. We have to wait for the whole “collapse and rebuild” part first though.
