uBlock Origin has spoiled me by allowing me to erase the shorts listings. So I don’t even know how bad it is for shorts.

I never saw memes calling out animal ag on that other site outside of confined spaces. Yet on Lemmy they get upvoted in larger communities.
Lemmy is amazing. Keep being the hope for the future, folks. We need it!
Thanks. I just lost The Game.
I losst The Game before reading this because of the dang image.
Meat and dairy are heavily subsidized by the government (at least in US). Government subsidies for animal agriculture allow them to sell for cheaper because they can sell for less than what it actually costs to make.
Wait tgis is a real car? Wow I thought it was an art project or AI meme
So far as I know, they’re not shoving 20 ads in your face on every screen.
I know they’re far from perfect. Heck they have a forced arbitration clause in their ToS.
But compared to other services lately, Discord seems to mostly be trying to treat users as customers instead of products for advertisers. I’ll take it, and get some neat conveniences from Discord in turn.
It’s sad that bACoN means more to people than the very lives of their loved ones on top of all the moral atrocities inherent in animal ag.
The top reason I don’t have hope for the future. People don’t care if the world burns and disease runs rampant if it means they get their tendies right now.
I read the answers before the question and thought “My local Walmart sells RPGs what’s the joke?”
… Thought it meant Role Playing Games. Not firearms.
On Voyager with my sh.itjust.works account with nsfw toggled off and I don’t see any furry or porn.
I am pleased with this.
Pfp? Well I missed a memo. Seem to be fine without one though since I didn’t even know that was a thing.
If you’re out of the loop: There was a Dexter’s Lab episode where the titular character could only say “Omelette du fromage” for the whole episode.
If you know that and an extended reference went over my head… oops!
Seen this so many times and glad to keep seeing it.
More people being informed on these scummy practices to look out for and avoid is a good thing.
This is not something I’ve heard of as someone who also doesn’t bother with fast food. Is this like, higher prices during rush hours or something?
I would pay if it were more a more affordable price.
I haven’t browsed apps in ages so idk if it’s still common, but I remember lots of apps having a lite version and a paid version. Lite version has ads and a sometimes couple less features. Full version ad-free and potential extra features.
I liked that. Let me decide if I enjoyed the app enough to pay for the better version.
Before Reddit went down in a fire, I paid premium even though I already had adblocker and no need for the premium features. And I would do the same for YouTube now, if it wasn’t so high priced.
I am consciously learning now what I think I subconsciously already knew. If I value something enough, pay for it. And I DO value YouTube’s videos. The current cost is just a bit uncomfortably steep for a monthly subscription fee.
I run AdGuard on my iPhone and don’t see ads at all. No idea how it’s so effective, but it is.
Also have an old model/iOS version though. Idk if it’s no longer possible.
When I became financially independent I got Reddit premium even though I didn’t really use any of the features. Already had adblock and RES. I just wanted to support the site I spent hours on.
Cancelled that when they killed Apollo.
But I do agree that limited ads aren’t an issue… except for the slippery slope that’s happened. Just a few more ads… just a little more intrusive…
This is me. I have had people say I make them sweat by looking at me when I wear a sweater in 75F just because it’s not yet hot enough to make me take it off.
The Game is the perfect counter/addition to Loss memes because every time I see a meme of Loss I know I just Loss The Game.
Then I get to say it and make othe people lose the game because of Loss. This makes me smile.
