  • Combination of spam callers being more prevalent and the younger generation has unbelievably high social anxiety as a direct result of them mostly being raised indoors and alone with family.

I’m not saying that the way we older folks grew up was inherently better at all times, but it certainly forced us to converse with strangers and develop those skills.

My little twin brothers and my little sister were actually afraid to call a pizza place and order pizza when they were younger. They still don’t really do phone calls aside from work related things or direct family.

  • Laziness. The cans are convenient. I don’t wanna hog up fridge space with a huge jug of liquid that only I would be drinking.

Maybe when I’m living in my own again I’ll get some liquid dispenser thing that lives in my fridge and I’ll just have to figure out the ratio of sugar to tea that I like best.

I have only tried their blood orange tea (and I love it so much), but they have a small amount of caffeine (like 40mg) so be aware of that if you’re caffeine sensitive.

Everyone I have let try the tea has asked to have a can or two so I’ve burned through my initial supply a little faster than I was hoping.

I have been searching for a mildly sweetened tea for most of my life and I am so happy to have something between unsweetened tea and liquid diabetes tea (I love the south but that stuff barely counts as tea come on y’all).

  • I recently found a very mildly sweetened tea and I’ve been in love. Tall can and only 7 grams of sugar. I can drink them all day and I don’t feel like I’m going to enter into a diabetic coma like I do after one sip of Arizona tea.

Problem is they aren’t cheap and they only give you free shipping on the first batch… Not sure I am willing to spend the money on getting them consistently which sucks. I need to find somewhere local and stock up.

  • Yeah unfortunately bad actors ruin pretty much everything. We can do our best as a society to set things up in a way where systems can’t be abused but the sad reality is we just need to raise people better.

Lying, cheating (the academic or competitive integrity kind) and many other undesirable behaviors are part of human nature but good parenting teaches kids not to use those.

  • I wouldn’t even say “mostly” any more. It’s been on a pretty steady decline since the 90s. I think we are soon approaching the point where only 50% of newborn boys will be getting circumcised.

I’ve been a handful of women’s first experiences with an uncut man and at least in my limited experience they were mostly just curious and didn’t seem to care either way. So I think the sigma around uncut being gross or circumcised looking “better” is slowly going away. You still almost never see uncut guys in porn, but let’s be honest if you’re basing your body image off what pornstars are doing you’re gonna have a bad time .

I am happy to see that more and more parents are leaving that choice up to the child to decide when they get older. It always bothers me greatly when I hear new parents say things like “(last name) boys have always been circumcized and we aren’t changing that” or the people that just do it because their religion says they have to.

Female circumcision is looked down on almost universally and for good reason. I just wish society would get there with Male circumcision as well.

  • That might work for now when those of us who know what to look for can readily identify AI content for the time being, but there will be a time when nobody can tell anymore. How will we enforce the tagging then? Bad actors will always lie anyway. Some will accidentally post it without knowing its AI.

I think they should add a tag for it anyway so those who are knowingly posting AI stuff can tag it but I fear that in the next few years the AI images and videos will be inescapable and impossible to identify reliably even for people who are usually good at picking out altered or fake images and videos.
