  • Yeah see that seems to be a very libertarian market driven way of looking at things.

The way things end up working, at least in the US, is that they a) just won’t raise the minimum wage, and b) even if everyone stops tipping they won’t raise it, and then you’ll have a bunch of people unable to live who still have to work for shit wages. Which is exactly the situation that exists in the states right now.

I’ve lived in the Netherlands for 3 years - i much prefer the set up there. As you say, pay the price that’s listed. No extra surprises.

  • I’ve had 5 ACL surgeries and torn my hamstring a couple times and my Achilles. I honestly really love wearing my vibrams. Ive got a couple trail running ones and ones I wear for working out, as well as a pair for just walking around. When it’s not shit cold and icy out I wear them all the time. It just feels better and hurts my knees and my back way less after all the damage I’ve done to them.

Honestly never understood why people were so bothered by them. Would I wear them on a first date? Probably not unless I knew the woman was also into them. But if I’m gonna be in a relationship with you? You should probably be okay with being seen with me in them.

My girlfriend now doesn’t like them particularly but she doesn’t have a problem with me wearing them anywhere, even to see her family.

  • Actually no there isn’t. Black voters voted in majority for kamala. Even Latinos voted majority for kamala. She lost some percentage points with those groups, but by far and away white men and women voted for Trump, not for kamalcanif your only recourse in each election year is to hope you get enough black and brown voters to win you the eldtion, then maybe don’t alienate all those voters and tell them their concerns don’t matter for a year before the election.

It’s almost like a bunch of colonizing powers came in and stole all their money and material wealth and usurped their country’s political system and beggared all the people and then they didn’t have the money time or motivation to protect the artifacts while they were all starving or being bombed

I commute 5 hours a day for work, and have to go in 3 times a week. I take the train now, but still have to drive 25 min to the train station. Taking the train takes exactly the same time as driving to my job. Which by itself is ridiculous. Up until recently, the option of taking the train in was not available. So I spent 5 hours in my car. The price difference between moving closer to work Vs living where I am right now is almost 2.5k a month. I don’t get paid enough to pay 48 to 52k a year in rent. I work in cancer research. The jobs are in the city, not outside. So I don’t have a choice, because every company that does what I do is in the city, and doesn’t do remote work.

I have a feeling you don’t really understand how things work for people sometimes

No it’s not it’s specifically that companies can sell Americans the same food they sell in other countries but in those countries, the same food is made with much better ingredients.

Look at the difference between the ingredient list in a Heinz ketchup bottle in the EU vs in America.
