I never understand this, the last time I needed an MRI I got it done within the same day. Canadian healthcare can have its downsides but when you need something you get it quick.

I find they have a faint botanical/vegetal perfume and a buttery flavor.

And as a Canadian I have never met anyone who went to the US for healthcare and as a middle class person I grew up with people poorer and richer than myself.

Canadian healthcare - I got surgery within the space of a month for something totally non-life-threatening and didn’t pay a cent other than my taxes, which cost less than American health insurance monthly. The amount of people I know who went to the US to get simple procedures done is exactly zero, and all this information is directly from - a Canadian.

I disagree, how can someone’s share of responsibility in a situation that includes the actions and motivations of another person be 100%? That’s incorrect at best.

I’ve seen a lot more hate coming from non vegans, both unprompted (like this post) and in reaction to casual posts about a recipe or something on social media.

I don’t think they’re misguided, I just think that even if we solved the capitalist exploitation driving the meat industry they would still care about animal suffering on a micro scale. I also feel like you’re making a lot of assumptions about them based on that singular focus. Your view of the issue as a whole is just as myopic as his.

I find it laughable that you think that geeks weren’t exactly as messy about every fandom update. 25 years ago Star Wars caused public meltdowns. I was there, where grown men cried, in public.

I’ve found myself scrolling through stories or reels or whatever a particular platform calls it and coming across something even slightly polarizing and heading right for the comments looking for opinions I find stupid or incorrect and then-

realizing I’m falling for the algorithm, deleting my half written comment and moving on.
