  • I was feeling really bad for the guy thinking he was now homeless, because there would’ve been no way to sell the home prior being in the location it was, until I read the last lines of him living at his second home while he figures out what to do. Oh gee, I don’t know. How about, live in your spare home? For fucks sake “figuring out what to do”. Collect any reimbursement and move on in your extra house as if nothing happened. Rich motherfucker. There are few enough houses available in Hawaii without someone taking up multiple. No wonder Hawaiians are sick of haoli.

My rants aside though neat links! Thanks for posting them!

Outside of the fries and pancakes the rest isn’t that bad. Hurr dürr hate on America and all because it’s popular to do so. But hash browns and home fries are just potatoes browned with butter in a skillet. Bacon and sausage and eggs are a decent source of protein. Toast is normal unless you live somewhere that hasn’t learned what bread is. English muffins are no worse than toast and biscuits aren’t even awful on their own. Juice, milk and coffee are all fine. I guess I don’t see the “prime American junk food” outside of the sugary pancakes and fries. And frankly as an American I wouldn’t eat any of those for breakfast. The blueberry pancakes on occasion but never the other two.

  • I mean to really change whether third parties work in the US we need systemic changes and regulations to the voting structure because getting a populist movement stateside is nigh impossible. The only reason to vote for someone that doesn’t represent you halfway is to hopefully prevent the person who doesn’t represent you at all from getting in.

  • It’s less a vote for Trump and more a lack of a vote for the party that can realistically defeat him. I wish 3rd parties were a viable federal election option. But they aren’t yet to a point where they can realistically win in the US.

So the sentiment that not voting, or voting for a guaranteed loss is a vote for the worse of the two parties with a chance to win isn’t entirely without merit, it’s just poorly phrased. It means that if you fail to vote for the person that can win over the worse candidate, you have given the worse candidate a better opportunity to win.

  • Maturity plays a much more important role than age. Some people are never fit to marry, some have what it takes by the time they are 16/17. It’s not often that it plays out well for the youngest ones, and since each year brings new experiences and understandings each year moves along the bell curve of “marriage readiness”. So is it more likely that a 24 year old is more ready for marriage than a 18 year old. Yes. Is it guaranteed? No. I know some 50/60 year olds that still aren’t ready for marriage. They just never learned the skills it takes to have a healthy marriage. Giving an age as a hard cutoff is too arbitrary a measure. Age doesn’t guarantee shit.

  • Lmao beautiful. Yeah, I know someone people are just flat inconsiderate and that’s fine. It’s more for me anyways to assume they aren’t an intentional asshole. I do think everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt, but I’m aware that excuses some assholes that shouldn’t be as well. I’m at a point in life where I’d rather let a few of them pass than accuse someone whose intentions weren’t malicious. Honestly though… I still mutter “asshole” to myself regardless of who they are lol, I just try to mentally check in on why they might not be.
