Agreed. I love tons of evil characters precisely because they are more interesting or they make the world more interesting. So many have more interesting motivations, more interesting developments, and more interesting dialogue than the hero roles they counter.

I think the bigger issue causing that is cameras on phones have devalued photographs in general. Many people really don’t understand what goes into the good photographs and think it’s as easy as their selfies. And it’s bullshit that people treat your wife that way.

Her phrasing of “you want to shoot for x money” is gatekeeping. You can’t have a hobby because I paid more money to do it professionally.

If she’s talking about people wanting to low ball her she would’ve said “a shoot” instead of “to shoot”. It’s also perfectly likely she just misspoke.

Just because it’s not an exact comparison doesn’t mean the analogy fails.

I have a friend that actually likes the results from his Oxo conical. For $100 that’s really tempting but I’ve had mixed results from Oxo so I’m a little leery there.

Either way I’m hoping for something very hassle free so I want something with really low retention because my favorite bean is an Ethiopian that makes a good amount of fines.
