I’m not sure this is the big gotcha you think it is. To serve a large population in a big relatively small area, you can easily achieve your goals with fewer, larger locations. This will allow a greater selection per location, which reduces the odds you will have to wait for the desired product to be shipped in. Moreover, land isn’t cheap in New York, whereas it may well be in smaller locales in England. Either way, a reasonable metric is cost per capita to provide services for a region, and England is only about 2/3 as expensive as New York. I suspect the cost of living is higher in New York than England, and it will certainly have an impact of the relative budgets of the two organizations. And we haven’t talked about the climate control requirements in England vs. New York because, frankly, I’m not too clear about the relative climate differences to say whether that’s a significant issue in the first place.

You’re right, this post is about America, and I don’t want to diminish what they’ve done. But if one wants to criticise, one opens thselves up to criticism. Glass houses and all that. In that vein, the OP seems to have a very limited set of topics, and if you remove criticisms of capitalism and America, he doesn’t seem to have much to say at all. It makes you wonder if they have an agenda, or if they’re even an actual person at all.

I generally agree with you, but honestly, pro-China and pro-Soviet users talking about American deaths is whataboutism itself. I’m not saying they shouldn’t, but it’s rather glaring how much they avoid their own missteps.

Yeah, those were the days, back when more often than not a Windows upgrade was also an improvement. As much as I loved Win2k, WinXP was even better. Let’s not talk about Vista and while Win7 was nice, it wasn’t much of a UX improvement.

Ever tried to use all the hidden features on the sides and corners? Absolute nightmare with a mouse, fairly reasonable with touch. The UX was very dependent on the hardware being used.

And I hate the bing search bar, too, don’t worry. Never used Cortana, occasionally use the search at the bottom of the screen, only select from installed apps or documents. I already know how to use a web browser, thanks, and they all let me choose my search engine, too.

I can appreciate what you’re saying, but it’s a terrible idea to force a tablet paradigm in non-touch screen scenarios. 8 would have been fine if you could choose your start bar. Don’t say this wasn’t possible, because there was third-party software to make that happen.

Win2k wasn’t consumer. It was the business offering at the same time as ME, which may be surprising to some. Xp was their successor, merging the business and personal lines.

Come on. A lot of foods were bred for shipping, not flavor or nutrition. Some used GMO, others used selective breeding. Here’s an article talking about it 20 years ago. The short answer is people want to make money, and most foods aren’t priced based on their nutritional value.
