One pourover in the morning, one pourover after lunch. Under exceptional circumstances, a double espresso in the afternoon. Very rarely if ever more than that.
I’ve used and enjoyed that kind of setup a while back, but my new favourite is to have something that rotates different backgrounds. macOS has their dynamic wallpapers which you can set to cycle through different ones on a regular basis, which I really like. I still don’t like having any icons, though.
On Android, I use Muzei to get a different artwork as my background every day. It’s also very nice.
Agreed to the part about job security being terrible in the U.S, but it’s worth mentioning that the premium you get in income for living in for example San Francisco far outweighs the cost of housing.
My best strategy for dealing with this is leveraging my inability to deal with having any notifications whatsoever on my phone. Hence my strategy is:
A great aspect of having an ongoing checklist that you actually respect is that things written down on the list don’t have to be actively thought about - this calms my mind.
Bonus:
I’m outside the U.S, but I’ve never been to a screening with multiple language subtitles in a single screening - usually what I’ve seen is that you can go to different screenings subtitled in different languages, but never two languages at the same time.
In addition to those, there was also Finnish and Swedish subtitles.

At that point, you’re basically just listening to podcasts. Leaning into it might be a good choice, since there’s no visual element that gets lost when listening to podcasts, as compared to YouTube videos.
